Just read an article in the Norwich evening paper indicating levels of optimism amongst fans of all 24 Championship clubs: https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/survey-claims-city-fans-fourth-most-optimistic-1-6817133 Barnsley Town (!) are apparently 16th most optimistic on a score of 6.17. This isn't scientific as I don't know the descriptors used for each score from 10-1 but I thought it'd be interesting to see whether the BBS is more or less optimistic than this suggests........
I'd like to be optimistic but two factors stop me 1. Who will score enough goals to keep us safe? 2. Concerned about the ease in which Newcastle tore through the right hand side of our defence.
Honestly I haven't thought about it much I'll just be happy when we can actually go and watch in person.
As Gerhard said - the next few weeks will shape the season. He seems to be optimistic that the right players will be brought in. So on that basis - I’m also optimistic about the season. We don’t need many - I think 4. And if we get them right - 8th to 5th in the league.
Middling. I think generally we will be more difficult to beat that last season, but still with some games like Stoke away setting us back, given we're still an inexperienced side. Up front, there's still likely to be spells of frustration where we either don't take our chances or don't create clear cut chances, but hope that the forwards can have the enough in form spells that will see us to 50+ points.
Was very optimistic last season, so I'm going with quietly confident this time. Cant see us being in a relegation battle but ultimately who knows. I think the fact we've a decent start could stand us in good stead
I'm optimistic before the start of every season, have been since I started watching Barnsley and this campaign is no different.
I'm optimistic, but then again last season I made a public song and dance about us making the playoffs
Without a more clinical finishing force up top I think we’ll look tidy but toothless Bottom 6 without a fox in the box Maybe Paddy S will fully blossom this season Chaplin and Woodrow aren’t consistent enough
I’m optimistic we won’t go down in fact I’d say anywhere in bottom third outside the relegation places .
Based on the current squad and budget anywhere from about 14th to 19th as a guess, which I'd be happy with. On the other hand, I can't imagine BFC going through a season smoothly and predictably, so who knows.
