When you google him, the little details section that google has says that he is 28 so that must be where it has come from. Not sure if that uses Wiki but then as you say, Wikipedia actually has him at 24 and non edited so who knows.
Do we think this whiteman is lined up because with the amount of talk it would make us look stupid if someone came in and signed him. Although that’s what tends to happen with us.
Bleeding hell, they're a sensitive bunch. Struber barely said anything, and they're making out that he's tapping him up. Then again, they were crying FFP when we signed Ross Turnbull off them a few years ago.
Full article here, reads a bit different to that tweet. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...fcs-interest-doncaster-rovers-captain-2960208 He said: "The (first) big challenge is to save (keep) the players here. We have players who are also interesting other clubs. "The first big target is to save the players and the other one is that we bring interesting players here to Barnsley. I don't read that and think two players are off.
Off-topic a bit, but Google the recent Scots language Wikipedia scandal, it's hilarious. Some 12 year old American kid contributed over a third of the Scots Wikipedia (tens of thousands of articles) despite having absolutely no knowledge of the language. He literally just made it up as he went along with wrongly spelled English words that 'sound Scottish'.
He just played the first half with Donny 3-0 up must be getting a bit of game time in before he signs for us.
Rather lose neither brown gets alot of unwarranted stick for me, he was played out of position for alot of last season still work his bag out every game and had great assist stats imo he has the most potential of all our squad I hope the price we sell for reflects this cant see him been here when window shuts
The majority of Donny fans don't like us it's as simple as that. Whenever I've gone back for a family function, knowing that some Donny fans were on the guest list, I've purposely gone out of my way to wind them up, by wearing my Barnsley club shirt. The pleasure of the wind up is always heightened if that afternoon, they had lost and we had won. At one do, I went into the kitchen to get a beer and there were three of them muttering under their breath and looking daggers at myself and my mate who was wearing his Rotherham United shirt. Sad that they should burden themselves with such animosity really. Even though I lived the first thirty years of my life in the town, to me Doncaster Rovers Football Club mean absolutely mean nothing to me. I'm proud that I support the Reds and can only put their obvious dislike of Barnsley down to pure jealously as it's patently obvious, that down the years, we have enjoyed more success than they have.
I worked in Donny for nearly 15 years, the people think they’re a cut above us, take the pyss out of our accent, our town. Lost count of how many times I heard ‘we’ve got a racecourse, a minster and an airport, we’re the Chester of South Yorkshire”. It has nice parts and shitoyles like anywhere else but they definitely have a superiority complex. Two cars ont drive but nowt int fridge as mi old mam used to say.
I’ve relatives in Donny and spent much of my late teens and 20s living there - and I found what you say to be generally true. Donny has a lot going for it - East Coast Main Line , Airport etc etc - but many of the people are just snobs. They think they are a cut above Barnsley folk. There is a friendliness and togetherness in Barnsley that you don’t find in Donny.
