i can’t be racist my mates black! chuff me sideways whilst there is ever the attitude you’ve just written about there’s no hope really.
Youve only got to look at various replies to the shared articles on Twitter to have a look at what a large portion of the country thinks. "Bandwagon jumper" "Trying to make money" "Go back to Pakistan" It's why thus country is on its arse - the people in charge also think like this.
To be fair Journo was only replying to DB3K’s uneducated comment that we rarely sign coloured players. I don’t believe he was using it as a defence of the racism allegations.
If I read it incorrectly then I do indeed apologise, but to state he isn’t having it as evidence of racism and then list the players he did wasn’t really a smart thing to do in a 2d world of a message board.
Rafiq as a problem with people currently at the club who he thinks whilst they are around things won't change. So I was on about the higher ups at Yorkshire over the past decade or so when many of the names mentioned were pre that era. https://yorkshireccc.com/teams The whole set up from teams to staff and we only have two young lads listed who are not white unless we count the overseas players not coming over due to Covid even though other counties have still kept overseas players.
I clearly began the post by saying I wasn't commenting on Rafiq's claims, rather the post about Yorkshire usually signing Australians implying racism.
It was apparently also racist when his tea business wasn't given a late night licence. https://urbanmuslimz.com/news/politics/rotherham-council-tea-license/ Bet he wishes his family had stayed in Pakistan instead of coming to live in this racist country.
I'll be interested to hear what Rashid has to say when he retires, I'm guessing he'll keep his council until then. The problem is that not all players/staff/fans are racists obviously, but that doesn't mean to say the club doesn't have a culture which turns a blind eye to incidents or tacitly supports a racist structure - at the end of the day, as has been pointed out, there are only 2 non-white players in the entire squad - now thats not bound to be a sign of racism, but it should be looked at with a cool, outside view - and questions asked. Its like why aren't there more black managers in football? Well, no chairman is going to stand up and say "I don't want to have a black man in control of my club". are they? Yet, clearly given the number of black players for the last few decades, then the lack of black managers should be a cause for concern - again, not automatically a case of racism, but you have to wonder what's going on? And simply throwing your hands up and complaining about PC world gone mad, etc, isn't good enough.
Rashid has had a challenging relationship with the club for many years now, makes you wonder if this is anything to do with it.
Does cricket have a massive problem? is it Yorkshire thing? is it a society thing? South Yorkshire league cricket in the news now https://wisden.com/stories/your-gam...d-for-alleged-use-of-racist-slur-in-club-game
https://www.ysplcricket.co.uk/lates...FL0IdWaJqVoddXh-e95V_y2t-hPnCP3pAY5hj-HjuMnjk Here's his resignation. If you're looking for an apology, you won't find one.
I reckon Adil Rashid will speak out against Yorkshire once the day comes he leaves. I think it was telling he didn't join his Yorkshire team mates after leaving the England bubble like others did apart from Bairstow who was off to the IPL. I didn't buy in to the reason being so he can spend time with his family after so long away from them. He would have been playing a day after leaving the England bubble and I am sure he could have hung around a measly four days to be part of the last two games of the season.
Whoops. Lots of racist bingo in this link from a junior coach at Barnsley CC. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...cism-over-offensive-social-media-post-1268037
It's one thing telling a joke that's about 40 years out of date, it's another digging an even bigger hole afterwards.
