    Morsy could prove to be a very influential addition. No doubt about it, he is the kind
    of player Warnock and Blackwell tend to favour. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see
    him being given the skippers armband in the not too distant future.

    It was always going to happen - all their players on salaries over a couple of thousand per week have to be got rid of somehow or the club will be liquidated. I actually dont think it would have made any difference if they had remained in the championship - unless a buyer prepared to bankroll the club had stepped forward they would have exactly the same problem in the championship - but their academy players would be even more out of their depth

    Whichever division they ended up in, their likely finishing position was 24th.

    A season in the Championship would only have delayed their journey to League Two (and possibly the Conference) by a year, assuming they survive at all - which I am not sure they will.
