Yep reckless and only ever intended to hurt the player.

If he had connected properly I agree but in this case I think yellow was correct

Intent, lack of control, text book 'dangerous play' the idea is to send him off before he breaks a leg, not wait till after.

You don't need to connect in this day and age. Intent with studs up can be a straight red, depending on refs interpretation.

He had no intention of going for the ball, Walton had already cleared it.

Is anyone surprised? This happens all the time to us, especially at Oakwell for some bizarre reason. Just look at that Wigan one from late last season.

I think most refs would have given a yellow for that- ref could have given red and I wouldnt have argued but most of the time that gets a yellow

And then of course he scores when he shouldn’t be on the field

Not sure what you mean by connected properly it was a late challenge he was never going to win with his studs up, the intent was there the ball was long gone.

I honestly don’t think it was a red. It wasn’t a good challenge and you’ve seen them given but it would have been quite a harsh sending off.

It wasn’t even close to being Antonee Robinson standard. Now THAT was a red...

I did think the ref was shocking today though. Gave them everything when they threw themselves down under a gust of wind but nothing in return.

No red but naughty. The ball wasn't long gone when he launched himself. What I find ironic is that in another thread we are asking for a 6'2" hairy arsed forward to knock the opposition abart. Hmm.
