    Oh yeah.
And where were you weeks ago when I was been ridiculed for suggesting that we needed such a player !?!
As usual many coming late to the table.

We’ve needed one since we sold Moore last season.

I also think we’re crying out for a lesson in the difference between been and being ;)

Woodrow plays better with a big bloke next to him. However, if we got a big target man up top it would have consequences for other aspects of our game i.e pressing. We would have to alter tactics in my opinion. If so is it in Strubers DNA to alter tactics to fit a big guy into the team?

I know I'm probably being stupid here but why does a taller striker mean less pressing?

A big lump up front would be a wasted big lump.

We have a system and a style, regardless of what you think of it, and a big lump up front would render the system useless.

What we do need is some physicality in the team as we are too lightweight, but we can recruit players like that who also fit the system.

You only have to listen to Struber’s assessment of the performance and where we struggled, compare that with some comments on here, and realise there’s levels to football knowledge.

Also, when was it confirmed that we definitely wanted Dykes and lost out because we wouldn’t pay an extra few hundred grand?

We aren’t Wimbledon circa 88. We need a forward with pace and a physical presence. Not someone to lump it to.

I think it's completely crazy that we only have one system and one set of players who fit it. Different opposition means different things are needed and as games progress changes need making. We should have at least one big lad we can send on

But that lad doesn’t need to be a big lump demanding five figures a week as he winds down his career. People were genuinely suggesting we spank our budget on Chris Martin.

Not having a big lad up front wasn’t the reason we were poor. We were absolutely dreadful on the ball with way too many players having an off day.

I don't think we need a really expensive biggest earner at the club over the hill player but I do think we need different styles of player as we are too predictable

I can see why people say that. But at the same time on a seriously below par day we should have pulled it back to 1-1 and then who knows.

I also think we’ve shown adaptability with tactics and formations, but not in the way some supporters want i.e the big man up front. The switch from four at the back or three at the back depending on who we play has seen us pick up a few wins since Struber came in.

thats twice in about 18 months we've agreed on something, it gives you options to change the system when the opposition put the spoilers on the game

It doesn't but the guy would have to incredibly fit to do pressing and be the target of lots of attacks. Movement off the ball would have to be brilliant all the time. My opinion of course and perhaps its me being stupid.

The big hole in your argument is that they can't make money with us being a League 1 club. So 'success' (as denoted by Championship survival) is a very high priority in their business plan, especially if they want to make money from Barnsley as a club.

I'm with you on that. We really should have equalised. That said it would have been harsh on Luton, who produced a very professional away performance. Great finish for the goal too.

Yep - just because they are tall doesn’t mean they are slow.
I mean, you only have to look at me.
    Very deceptive.
