Would you report your neighbours for breaking the rule of 6?

  1. Definitely - breaking the guidelines is always wrong/puts me in danger

  2. No - this has resonance of the Stasi and I wouldn't dob people in.

  3. It depends how flagrant the breach is

No viewpoints given from me in the poll, but I'm really interested in what people think to some senior ministers in both the Conservative and Labour party's encouraging the public to phone in and report their neighbours where they believe there's been a breach of the "rule of six".

I wouldn't want to grass on anyone. Obviously it should be treated differently if for example an house has 7+ people sat in it chatting compared to say a blatant garden party or BBQ where like a dozen are there.

Would completely depend for me. A group of 7 or even 8 where it's basically two families meeting up I don't see a problem.
A massive party where it's clear the neighbour is just utterly selfish is a different thing.

I think the ship has sailed. In order to reset we'd need another full lockdown. Daughter came back from abroad, during the time of self isolation not so much as a text as a reminder. Complete shambles.

I wouldn't grass anyone up. It would make me a hypocrite. I was one of those that flouted the rules and went to a street party and barbecue during the VE day gang bang.

These parties are so prevalent that even the police can't cope. Unless there is unrest caused they will gloss over it.

I get this - that's why I put the option - but devil's advocate - what gives you a right to arbitrarily decide the first one of those is OK and the second one isn't, and where do you draw the line and why?

Precisely that's what the police are paid to do.

I’d probably ring Dominic Cummings for a bit of guidance, and take it from there.

This epitomizes the kind of out of touch snivelling little halfwits that make up the house of commons. Of course these types of people will tell on you, look at the state of them.
Sensible people do sensible things, a concept alien to these turds

Well as I have posted previously, there are seven of us including our 20mth old granddaughter. Followed the rules so far even if i didn't see the point in them. If we meet up then anyone is quite entitled to 'dob us in'. It's ******* horrible actually. Would I dob anyone in? Party with say over ten folk where they are all licking each other, maybe but otherwise no.

How long before it becomes a punishable offence not to perform your civic duty and inform on them? Don't say it couldn't happen.

If one of the neighbours had 50 people round to a party then I would expect someone to report it.

If someone has their family around and with the grandkids it totals 7 people then I would want to shoot whoever's reported it.

Laura's cousin Natalie has six children. Are we breaking the rules taking George a few doors up the street to see his cousins? By law yes we are. However, I'd be aggrieved if I was reported pushing him up the street to see them.

Having had Covid 19 spending a month in the ICU two and a half weeks on a ventilator and still struggling with the aftereffects. I find people who selflessly flout Covid restrictions totally irresponsible

I think that's what we're heading towards. There's a party at number 12 everyone's invited we'll try to keep the noise down. You scratch our backs we'll scratch yours. As opposed to there's a party at number 12 feel free to grass us up.

I think when people are told to do something it's in their psyche to do the opposite if it inflicts their liberty.
