The thing is, the Crynes claimed there was no issue with the ground at all and the ‘issues’ between the owners was purely over the sale of the club. So why would the club move stadium? That doesn’t make sense. Something not adding up and it’s silly to jump to conclusions.
Sport/Football is a pastime we choose to do, those that do go to games those that choose not to don't, so no i don't believe it matters where you go. If you chose to support Man Utd then that's up to you to travel to their ground plus you wouldn't be bothered if the town was buzzing or not as you would have chosen to support a different team
How dare you suggest posters on this forum are jumping to conclusions! You do know that every piece of info surrounding the dispute has been disclosed, right?
Yes - many supporters are going to be of the same mind. These owners said repeatedly that they were here for the long haul. If reports are true - and they cannot find common ground with BMBC and the Cryne family then these owners will lose a sizeable percentage of the fan base and lose the potential to make Barnsley a decent sized club.
Both wouldn’t survive. A Phoenix club is only needed and viable if the other folds or moves far away permanently, not if it slightly relocates or shares grounds outside the borough for a year.
Seems the majority of people who have expressed a view on this 72 poll don't want the Club to leave Barnsley. Been exchanging emails with some fellow fans. If for example, the board got the EFL to allow a ground share with Huddersfield Town when we are allowed back of course, they are 100% saying they wouldn't go. Apart from it being a soulless place to watch football, it just wouldn't feel the same. https://the72.co.uk/192322/how-barn...impact-on-football-everywhere/?poll-results=1
Thank you. It doesn’t add up. I thought it was just me who isn’t convinced with the Cryne’s over this and the sale of the club too. I’m really not seeing how folk seem to be nearly universally against the consortium (and I’m no fan myself), yet seem to be very trusting of the Cryne’s. They settled on these buyers in the first place (admittedly under duress due to the rush caused by PCs declining health), but they knew who and what they were. They’d been in football long enough. They chose to sell to this type of buyer. Their choice. Also, they now say they’re still owed money. I don’t doubt it, I imagine they are. They have also said though, that there is no issue with them selling the stadium (well, their share) - yet the owners have put feelers out to play elsewhere as they haven’t been able to purchase the first half. Something doesn’t add up there. The Cryne’s can’t be being completely truthful. The Cryne’s are also suing the major shareholders for alleged monies owed. I’m not saying that is wrong, if they’re owed then they’re entitled, but it is purely self serving; isn’t useful to the club or us as fans. I don’t see how they’re coming out of this with no questions, at least not from most quarters. It seems almost universally to be purely the ‘owners’ fault. I’m not convinced at all.
I don't trust either party the silence from both is deafening the only person of interest in this mess to say anything today is Steve Houghton.
