    I've never been to the PenY Gwryd Hotel but I believe they have a Charles Evans Room there and also a lot of memorabilia from the training they did before the Everest Expedition. (Charles Evans was the first one to actually attempt to summit Everest - got tantalisingly close but had problems with oxygen) Hilary and Tensing were next to try and of course the made it.
