Wasn't able to watch the game today, for those who did watch how did the new lads get on? Especially interested in Helik who was the most recent signing and someone I think will add a much needed physical presence into the side for defending and attacking set pieces.
Let's hope we've signed another solid defender like Sollbauer. It's absolutely essential we get it right at the back. Do that and bring in some quality up front, I've a feeling we could be OK this term.
He was an absolute rock in the middle, complementing Mads and Solly brilliantly. I think we have finally got the central defence that we need to make a fist of this championship campaign, and maybe even a cup run as well? Be nice if both Collins and ICD played against their former club. I can't see Lampard playing many, if any first teamers, so we have a chance there.
Agreed, it's just a shame we aren't as dangerous in the other box with our set pieces. It would be great if we could find someone with a decent delivery.
Looked good to me. Won everything in the air. Will be a good option to put a 3rd big physical centre back in there for when we play a physical team. Williams has been great there but is freed up to play wing back by Helik playing there.
Thought he was excellent. Showed for the ball, won practically everything, solid, not scared. It's a good a debut I've seen. On that showing and he obviously needs time to settle, we may have a real defender on our hands
We’ve got a lot of potential for goals from corners and free kicks now it shouldn’t be asking too much for a professional footballer to put decent delivery into the box .
Their second XI wouldn't get relegated from the Premier League! He'll either play a couple of the new signings to keep them adjusting to English football/get a confidence boost or goal, or he'll rest them and bring in Giroud and Tammy Abraham. Might be Thiago's first game for Chelsea, the £40m player from Ajax they've signed, and then Hudson-Odoi, Billy Gilmour, Kovacic, Barkley, etc. Would be a great game for fans to go to!
