It won't be the same but it's just not the same watching it on tv. You can't see what's going off on the pitch in the same way. You dont get the same level if excitement and anticipation before the match when you're not there, at least I don't.

To echo what Whitey has already said. These are just initial ideas and plans and they could be ruled out as quickly as they're ruled in. Tomorrow's Guardian headline below.

Hmm. I'd always rather have a digital ticket. I'm never likely to leave my phone at home but Ive left my season ticket home too many times to remember. Which is a particular pain since I moved to York.

I hope you took a photo, cos that has all the makings of a classic Caption Competition. :)

1 thats not true - there are some that work Saturdays - a lad near me was working Saturday mornings last season so only got in just before half time every week
    2. Surely the system is if you go in for a ballot fail but know you cant make the next game you can get carried forward to the one after - there are quite a few cant make evening games so to fail to be given a ticket for a Saturday game and told you have to have one for the tuesday night and cant have an iFollow code would be a bit much IMO

In any case I am not getting too carried away until we see how realistic this is at the moment

Thanks for sharing Gally, but at the moment, subject to change, it seems a nightmare.

I normally only get back for 1-2 games per season anyway, although last season I saw all 4 August home games.

I think I’ll wait until normality is more normal. Having said that, I’d still need to hop over The Pond and isolate first.

How are fans supposed to fight when practicing social distancing? Asking for a friend.

Me. I'll take whatever is on offer to get back to 'normal' and start watching live football again. Thanks

Exactly I work shifts so miss a lot of midweek games too. I'm sure people have a lot of different circumstances, it's a difficult situation.

It's been confirmed that the 1st October date is no longer happening which is no surprise. It was good to read up on how it may work though when we are finally allowed to go back so thanks to Gally and the guys for the info.

Luckily the handle length of pitchforks is sufficient to keep to social distancing while prodding someone with the pointy end.

    As usual, you’re wrong.

As was outlined last night at the fan forum, everything we have in place meets all protocol and is massively safe based on all known guidelines and government advice. That was the whole point of it.

I know it will be safe as it wouldn't be allowed otherwise. But as you know living in West Yorkshire yourself the area has restrictions like other parts of the north in that we cannot visit another house. So it looks odd if someone cannot visit a relative for a one to one chat in their house, but that same person can go to a venue of thousands.

Visiting a loved one in a confined, likely poorly ventilated indoor space (as the weather will soon deteriorate) is a bit different to mixing with strangers at a safe distance outdoors. It is not hard to see the difference.

Were second class season ticket holders in the hat for the first round proper?

I guess Paul they could look at addresses of those affected and act sympathetically in such extreme cases. Be interesting to know what % of fans with Season tickets live outside say a 30 mile radius.

Disagree to a point. I for example have no problems getting to games. I would like to attend all. But for someone whose bought a s.t. Logistics is a reasonable excuse. For all I know Gatesy is unable to attend night matches ad hoc. Bubbles would possibly stop swaps . But I wouldn’t be averse to doing it. With respect to those having to work. That can apply to midweek and weekend games . Too difficult to manage. and what would stop any of us using work as an excuse. Logistics is pretty obvious. It’s on your season ticket information.
