Surely you would make a slight alteration to your tactics playing against such firepower? They're dynamite obviously, but we had to absolutely make sure that we controlled our own game and if they did score it was either a world class goal or sweeping team move. Instead we've given them 4 out of the 5 on a plate.
The bulk of their starting eleven played regularly last season, and finished in a Champions League place. They’ve added an experienced international defender and a proper talent in Kai Havertz. If you saw their line-up and expected much else then you’ve something wrong. We’ve just lost against Reading and Luton.
We’re playing worse than normal because of the players we’re up against. We have less time to think and so make daft decisions and then that’s compounded by the fact they are more likely to punish those mistakes.
We played just as well as we have countless times over the past year. And got about as much out of it as we have the majority of times. It's not the result, and it's not the opposition.
