One of my favourite barnsley players of all time was a.dutch defender. I couldnt give a toss where he is from.but he looks like he is stealing a living to me.
He did have a great game at the weekend. Also played well against Boro. Not been great tonight, but nobody has. He hasn't been close to the worst player tonight, yet he's the whipping boy on here.
But let’s be fair, so is Thomas. Yet he gets no stick whatsoever. But it seems everyone has chosen Ritzmaier as the board whipping boy.
Thomas doesnt get the privilege of starting every game no matter how ***** he was in the previous one though
I think it's disgraceful that we've lost to a financially-doped, boutique club, funded with money stolen from the people of Russia, who can field a single player who cost more than 40 times our transfer record. Disgraceful. Sack the lot of 'em, and then lock the gates. (We'll win on Saturday.)
Agree with all of that. I thought we were excellent first half - barring the Ritzmaier mistake. I'm cross about the second half though - we were extremely naive, racing forward like schoolboys and leaving huge gaps which they ruthlessly exploited at times. Tbh we were fortunate it wasn't 8 or 9. GS or Sole or Mowatt or even Ritzmaier given his experience should've been communicating and making sure we were less exposed. Big learning experience tonight.
Thomas doesn’t get any starts because he is rubbish. At least Ritzmaier vaguely offers some defensive shape. Thomas offers failed dribbles, no end product, and not much else.
Time for everyone to take a rain check. For 60 minutes we were excellent and yes mistakes killed us in the end but overall I thought we have a good account of ourselves. I'll eat Mi owd put cap if Giroud comes on for Coventry after an hour on Satdi
Did you watch Ritzmaier the last time he played at left wing back in the league? To say he offered some defensive shape is laughable mate he was constantly out of position. Also to say Thomas offers nothing is a bit daft, Im Guessing you also didn’t watch the last round of This cup where we beat Middlesbrough and Thomas got two assists?
Some perspective that it doesn't matter how many millions your opponents are worth if you are going to hand them so many goals on a plate without them even working for them. After the first goal we conceded pissing around at the back you think they would learn and stop doing it, but no they carried on doing it time and time again. We were lucky the likes of Mount missed his couple of chances or it could have been double figures.
Did you not watch the boro game in the round before? Ritzmaier is stealing a wage I'm convinced he only gets a start because he is some relative of struber or he has some incriminating pictures of him.
Thomas was good against Middlesbrough. But like everyone keeps saying about Ritz, it’s one game. He’s looked ineffective in 95% of games, which is something Ritzmaier gets slated for. I know Ritzmaier isn’t a great player, but using Luke Thomas as his yardstick isn’t exactly a great comparison, as he is also a very limited and frustrating footballer.
Barring mistakes we played well first haif, second haif we weren`t really at the races after the third Chelsea upped the tempo. Thought Halme did oreight second haif and Styles for most of it. Got a bob or two art of it narr lets crack on Setdi and get some points ont board.
No he didn't have a "great" game at the weekend. He was (uncharacteristically) okay in the first half and he hit a couple of decent crosses - both things which I'd expect of any half decent player at this level. Mitigating circumstances but he was poor and anonymous in the second half. He's an appalling excuse for a footballer who cost us any chance of the game tonight from a position where we were rattling them by doing something that you shouldn't see at pub football level. It beggars belief that he is playing football at this level. I agree Thomas is little better on that showing and all-in-all I wish we'd get rid of of all these presence-less midgets (who aren't even quick) and get some athleticism into the key positions.
