Cauley hasn’t looked interested since the return after lockdown
Mowatt I’ve never rated but then he was brought in to replace hourihane so was big boots to fill

Disagree. I think it's the way this poor manager is playing them that's the problem. Mowatt was getting a goal or an assist one every three games before Struber changed his role. Woodrow has always scored for fun yet he plays him in midfield.

You can buy a top of the range DeWalt drill but if the person in charge tries using it to paint a wall it isn't going to work very well.

Woodrow and Chaplin are the best finishers we have and both contribute elsewhere on the pitch too. Both seem to be falling out of favour.

Not without replacements lined up though. If a premiership club came in for example. Pretty sure they could loan out someone who would fit the bill we require. Until a suitable player comes along. Not just take our 3/4/5th choice.

Agree about Cauley. I can see him coming to a position of thinking. What am I doing here. (Not the boards fault by the way.) Same with Ritzmaier. Those 2 situations are completely in the managers hands,

Thiam. I got the impression lost interest due to him being frozen out. I fear the same with Woodrow. Hope I’m wrong.

As much as I like Struber, I struggle with some of his tactics and thinking. ( thinking about it. I’ve thought that with every manager barring Norman Hunter, since Johnny Steele, then I realise I must know nowt about football)

As I have said before, we obviously need a striker and a midfielder, the head coach is well within his rights to express this when asked by the media and would understandably be annoyed if the players failed to materialise HOWEVER Struber has been backed by this board more than any other manager / head coach in years. He can not complain the board haven’t backed him in the same way Daniel Stendel or Paul Heckingbottom did. I have to think back to Flitcroft for a manager who has had the influence in transfer strategy that Struber has had

We have no choice but to play from the back as we don’t have an out ball. We flogged Moore & then we flogged Brown.

Struber wants a new striker but he hasn’t got one yet.

I remember these type of posts a year ago, as if it was by choice that Stendel wanted to play it from the back.

There’s not much point pumping it long if your strikers can’t hold it up

Only because of Wigan's point deduction... We didn't achieve enough points to stay up on merit..

It's looking more likely to me. Doesn't really look the same player at the moment.

I'd have more sympathy for Struber if he was getting the best out of the players he already had. If he could get Mowatt and Woodrow in form, we'd be fine. A defensive midfielder that replaces Ritzmaier and allows Mowatt more freedom would be more of a priority than a striker imo.

As for playing out from the back, he doesn't need a big target man to avoid playing out from the back. Could find out balls wide, switching play, or playing down the channels to get round a press. In fact, given we like the press so much, we'd be well trained at playing against a pressing team.

I don't think there is the same love in the room for Struber as there was Stendel and Stendel only got 11 games. Just saying...

We will struggle against Coventry I think. Robins will have noted how to play us, long ball and force the mistakes when we play out from the back. Love to be proven wrong.

Let's get a sense of perspective here. We lost 6-0 to one of the best teams in the premier league. We were doing that when we were a premier league side. The time to worry is if we lose 6-0 on Saturday.

If we lose on Saturday we'll be in that awkward situation. Do you back the current boss with further additions not being sure about what he's brought in thus far. Or do you tear it up and start again with a new boss signing players from the spreadsheet for Murray to use until he's installed?

Struber needs to be careful now with alienating good players in favour of his fellow countrymen. I’ve had it on good authority that he’s been asked numerous times by the board to communicate better with his players. (i.e explaining why they’ve not been selected, why they’ve been hauled off after 20 mins)

He will push a good group of players out of the club and I believe we have a good core of young exciting players. He just needs to pick the best team and play players to their strengths

I still to this day can’t understand why he picks ritzmaier over odour. I mean clubs like Bournemouth are one of the teams who like the look of him I’ve been told, so if someone like them can see it, why can’t he?

No. I know an ex pro as I work in Leeds who’s got ties to the club through coaching kids. He coached Clarke and Malik from young ages and he’s still got a lot of good contacts in the game. He talks regularly to Dane Murphy. When i see him he tells me stuff that’s going on.

He’s kind of a contact for landing these young kids at clubs, he speaks to Bobby hassell quite often too. He knows there’s been a lot of interest in young Clarke but he says all the lad wants to do is play

The way Struber says these things it's as though he is trying to talk himself out of his job.
I can smell a P45 in the offing.
