Football Insider. Judging by their previous rumours, they couldn’t be any further from the ‘inside’ of football.

Peter o rouke is reporting it aswell so maybe something in it. I'd jump at the offer if I was him not getting backed at all, similar to stendel.

Even if he isn't being backed here its no real step up for him going there. I am resigned to losing him at some point, but that is a step back IMO. The Championship is a far far better standard than the MLS. He was being linked to sides like Watford not long ago.

Come on, who's seriously going to move to New York from Barnsley?

It may be a better standard in the championship, but he'll probably get more money, along with a chance to live in New York and I would imagine more recognition if he does a good job there. I know what I'd do.

I think if he goes we’ll be able to bring our proper
exactly, that’s the first thing I picked up on.

Better place to live sure and yes most likely more money but I would 100% disagree that he would get more recognition managing there. It is not a well watched league globally and how many top clubs in Europe sign players or managers from the US market? Barely any.

Tricky one this.... who'd be in Stubers shoes to make this decision. Could be a real bind to leave the board thats backed him so well and knowing they always will... decisions decisions. Brookly or Barugh Green.... cud go either way this

You're probably right on that last point thinking about it. But I still think the other two points may outweigh the latter when making the decision. I also think being part of the RB franchise isn't a bad place to be if you do do well.

Depends on what he wants to achieve in his career. In the short term a move to NYRB is going to be much better for him than staying here as he will get to live in NY and get a bigger wage. But in the long term, if he stays here with us and does a decent job, he could easily get approached again by a Watford etc. and get them into the Prem and get much better recognition and wages etc.

In a recent interview with Radio Sheff I think, he mentioned he has received a number of offers this summer but so far has stayed put so he must believe in the long term vision here (hopefully so anyway)

Is that not them owned by Man City owners and where Viera left for OGC Nice?

Depends what his family want to do.
A 2 hour hop over to Salzburg from Manchester is one thing,a 9 or 10 hour flight from the USA is another

No they’re owned by Red Bull. Part of the same group as RB Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg, where he’d coached at previously.

I agree, but doing a decent job here isn't easy. Especially as it seems that we are no further in getting the striker he wants. He could choose to stay here, we get relegated and then he ends up jobless for a few months and potentially having to manage back in Austria. Or he could go NY, do well, keep his reputation intact and move to another championship club when the time is right. Lot's of variables to consider and it may come down to what he values most. However, if I was in the same position, I'd be looking at flights already.

So many hypotheticals to consider, from all reports he was in talks with Watford and for some reason either didnt get it or turned them down, we will never know the full details of that nor will we know what other sides he was approached by. My hope is that he chose to reject those offers as he believed in what was going on here and you would hope that he had been given some assurances that we would sign some players to help him out.
