Wouldn't blame him if Murphy has been suggesting to him that the likes of Dykes, Kulenovic, Whiteman etc... are likely, only to see them not able to get a transfer over the line. We still miss Ganaye.
I I hope you're right as I rate him and the players seem to have bought into his style of play. I just don't think we have the quality at present to take the chances we are creating.
Its a great opportunity for him if true, just to live and work in New York must be amazing. What I can't get get my head round is what has he actually achieved?, apart from a brilliant post-lockdown 7 games to warrant such a move .
Stairfootred must have been on to something with his thread the other day.....lol .......21 word statement been prepared as we speak.....anybody.... With GS statement re strikers....is that a warning shot to Conway and co....... Hes certainly got some armoury in his cupboard if the story is true.... Back me or I'm off.....
I think a lot of people are missing the Red Bull connection. What's the easiest way to land one of the top jobs in that 'organisation'? By working for that organisation. Do well at New York Red Bull and land the Salzburg or Leipzig job next. I imagine his ambitions are to get in to the Premier League or to manage one of those clubs closer to his homeland. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he took the job.
Opportunity often knocks when your stock is highest and you have to grab life by the b@lls when it does, agree with all those who think he'd be daft not to take the opportunity if it was offered, I would.
I wouldn’t be surprised one jot if he took it. In fact if they want him I’d be amazed if he didn’t go. I did for a few seconds wonder why they’d want him (aside from him being a decent head coach), but of course Red Bull are an Austrian company - so whilst I doubt its a huge priority, presumably they would always be interested in talented Austrians. Struber is a competent head coach, he has passion and emotion in spades which will appeal to the US market, his English is excellent and his nationality would likely appeal to the hierarchy at Red Bull, especially if they are looking to progress him to Salzburg or Leipzig (or both). You can see why they’d be attracted, and if they are I can’t see a single reason why he wouldn’t be on the first plane out there. His family wouldn’t leave Austria for Barnsley, but they might for Manhattan. Even if not I can’t see a few extra hours on a plane (especially when it would likely be in luxury on a private expenses flight by red bull) putting him off either.
100%. For all those reasons plus many more. I think it would be a good move for him - albeit I would be sad to see him go at the same time.
££££££££££££’s If he is set up for life. But I don’t think the MLS manager’s salaries on average $300k-$1m are much more than championship clubs.
If the Red Bulls come in with anything like an offer our board will bite their hands off. I am sure they have identified another "up and coming" coach already. Am I being too cynical?
Judging by the fact he's referenced recruitment (or lack of) increasingly in his recent press conferences, I suspect that his belief in the project and reliance on any assurances given have been unravelling since the start of the season. If there's merit in the link then it wouldn't surprise me to see him go, given the Red Bull connection.
Just seen his post match interview on the matchday recap. He seemed remarkably chipper and happy for someone who'd just been tonked 6-0. Looked there like he might have something else lined up
He has a release fee in his contract. Not a case of us biting anyone’s hand off but sticking to the contractual agreement
