I did point out in the original post 'If'. I dread to think what the turnover of players has been. But I daren't post anything that could be construed as 'anti-board' again.
Crikey, if you're considered "anti board" I suspect I'm due to be fitted up for war crimes against them!
The articles put online by the YEP and Chronicle do seem to paint a slightly better picture than the tweets from the journalists during the press conference. Struber saying he's had conversations with the owners where budgets were set out early, and now seems to be a case of Struber wanting to hold the owners to account on their promise to reinvest any money brought in for Brown. Question is, will they reinvest it, and if they're willing to, will they be able to get a deal over the line. It seems that the club failed to get Kulenovic to sign. Tomorrow's starting 11 will probably include Helik, Sollbauer, Ludewig, Ritz and Frieser. It's not bad going for a manager to have half of the outfield players being his signings, whilst still only in his second transfer window. Especially at Barnsley. Struber has been backed, but looks like he needs a little bit more to be competitive. Maybe we need to loan a striker if we don't have the budget to buy one.
"We're not going to do anything crazy, but we believe year after year we can improve performance". I admire Loko's positivity - and fair play, I wish I could be that glass half full. But for Christ sake, we don't half take one step forward, two steps back.
Why? Morais aside we've a very successful record in recent years with Hecky, Stendel and Struber.[/QUOTE]Timing more than anything. He's been consistently making a point about how we need someone in who can score, to the point it looks like he's been told he's not going to get that. If he leaves a week or so before the transfer window shuts and a new manager coming in has no time to fix that problem that we all know exists and has been obvious for months, and on top of that doesn't have the knowledge of and rapport with the squad that Struber has, I think we'll struggle. And we only stayed up on a technicality last season.
It's probably because it's not looking likely they will make any profit on the players brought in so they've turned their attentions to the manager filter on the spreadsheet in order to make abit of coin that way.
Iam suprised one of our fans on here hasn't got the job cos they seem to know what's wrong with our playing formation but the manager doesn't!
Footballers and managers are different though, it must be other way round i.e. 12 times salary (give or take). Look at Messi at Barcelona lol What's his salary €50M? Release clause is something like €700M (ish)
