I suspect it's probably more on the lines of ritz has a break clause if Struber leaves. no conflict of interest there, to say 'I'll sign but I've signed to play under Struber, so if he goes, I get the option to leave as well'. seems plausible
Actually sounds quite sensible if you follow your coach to another country, particularly if there are language difficulties etc.
I like Struber very much for what he achieved with us last season. If Red Bull agree to meet our boards valuation and Gerhard is interested, its best to let him go. We don't want to be keeping anyone who has their head turned and as we know, our owners are not averse to taking brass to hopefully re-invest back into the team. Also if his contract is linked, very few of our supporters will be saddened if Ritzmaier follows him as the majority don't rate him and probably never will. As we have seen, he is prone to committing a serious gaffe or three and truth to tell, he does not appear to be up to Championship standard.
Put it this way, I'm more of a Tonge Man than a Murray Man. Honesty goes a long way. Anyway, I would be sad to see Mr Struber go. I've not always been his biggest fan and some of the criticism he's received has been warranted, but I can't deny the fact that his record last season was very, very good. I hope we sort this shiit out, and we aren't at square one again.
Be interesting if Ritzy follows him all the way to the Premier League, guaranteed start etc. Wish the lad well but my god there's a line..
I’m a Barnsley FC man more than a Tongue or Murray man. If someone is actively working against the club, I’m glad someone spoke up.
Not so sure Struber would get a crack at the Premier league , even less likely if he goes to the States I would have thought.
So, hold on: we sign Ritzy, the Fridge Freezer and Ludewig again and then he bails on them? Because we sold Brown? What?
To be honest I’m not sure if that’s the case, but that’s what I’ve gathered happened from what has been hinted at on here. More so the poaching of other team members than the act of speaking to another club is what I’d class as working against the club, though. If that’s what happened that is.
To be something worthy of the definition "actively working against the club" I'd have thought you'd have to be telling your opposition your tactics beforehand or something. We know that talking to other clubs goes on all the time, from the way Struber and Murray have spoken.
Again, I class trying to poach other staff members away is classed as working against the club. If, indeed, that is what happened.
In any line of professional work, trying to poach colleagues away will get you fired (if you haven’t already left) at best and subject to legal action at worse. It’s in every contract I’ve signed in the last 15 years at least. Both while employed and also for a length of time after departing the company.
