What confuses me about all of this is that if Stendel was illegally (as in football illegally) in negotiations with Huddersfield and that led to him being fired then the club have evidence so why haven't they ever reported Huddersfield to the fa/EFL for tapping up a club employee?
Here we go again , the 2 + 2 = 12 brigade out in force again , fans clinging to every bit of gossip / speculation as if its fact, whilst the wind up boys sit behind their keyboards & chuckle
I have no idea. We may have done so. Or maybe it was determined that it wasn’t worth the hassle. It’s the rumoured poaching of colleagues that’s the bad part to me, rather than talking to another club. That’s between the club and employee, not the other club.
I haven't a clue about any of it but the term "actively working against the club" just sounded really serious!
Until fans are back in the ground and we are back to normal I'm not expecting the club to spend much money neither do I want them to, I would give Murray the job and bring Tonge back and bank any Struber money to keep our club afloat. We need to keep YT and everybody employed at the club and come out of this pandemic in a decent condition. I am OK watching the reds on Ifollow home and away its not the same but I still get the buzz. We have enough quality to stay up this season but maybe not the quality to stay up playing Strubers style. So financially and football wise it makes sense to let Struber go, give Murray the job for 2 years and have a yes man in charge may steady the ship, give us consistency and continuity. .
It would be a great move for Struber to get back into the Red Bull system with one of their marquee clubs. He’d have a chance of silverware and to prove he can be a winner, with the chance of coaching some of the world’s (former) best players. If he does well there he could easily end up with the Leipzig job which would be huge. Oh, and he’d get to live in New York for a few years.
My understanding is that It’s a completely different situation though. I believe Leeds approached us and bought out the contracts of the whole back room staff. The only thing I don’t like is those that defiantly call Murray a snake, for what it appears to be, informing the club of what was happening. It’s such stupid logic calling someone a ‘grass’ for doing the right thing. Both with regards to this and also in other situations.
The point I'm making is that staff leave with managers because when the new guy comes in they want their own staff. But it's being presented as something that is seriously undermining the club. But to me it just seems to be what happens.
I think it's different when no prior formal approach has been made though, that is the problem. It would be naive to think it doesn't go on all the time though.
I’m not saying it doesn’t go on all the time. What I disagree with is what seems to be calling someone a snake for informing the club what’s happening.
So Leeds made a formal approach but surely Hecky must have asked the staff here if they wanted to go with him before that point and then told Leeds he wants them in his team? And then the formal stuff happens?
Yeah if Murray was actively working against the club then that would be him giving away tactics, telling other clubs about our players, giving away contract details etc. Grassing up someone not committed to the club in trying to leave us doesn't fit that description.
I think the snake bit might be why someone does something. For the good of the club or for the good of your career?
I'll be really disappointed if he goes. I don't think we've had a gaffer in the last 10 years who I think the owners should have backed more(financially). He's tailor-made for a club such as ours, who wants to compete by developing the hidden gems and academy prospects, rather than buy our way up. I honestly believe that if we gave him the resources to buy 3 or 4 "developed" players and treated them as loss-leaders, the younger players he developed would more than makeup for the initial outlay(either directly by selling them for a profit, or by saving the club transfer fees by nailing down one of the places in the first team). As it stands, we are going to be back to square one with the board appointing their "first choice" coach who will also want a couple of ready-made players to simply make the team competitive. It's a complete waste of time and effort...
I don’t think Struber can claim he’s not been backed. Sollbauer, Helik, Ritzmaier, Ludewig and Frieser all signed, who appear to be Struber picks. In that time, I think only Brown has left from the first team. yes, he may want a target man, but if Frieser isn’t that player, why did we sign him in the first place?!
Exactly pal. This is my thoughts. They are all employees. If someone has the balls to stand up and say something’s going on, then fair okay to them.
For me the key factor would be motive. If he did it for the good of the club and because he thought they deserved to know, then fair enough. But if he couldn't give a **** about that and just did it because he thought he was next in line then he's a pr1ck. We'll never know (assuming it did actually happen in the first place) so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Yes and no. Firstly, with C-19, it poses further strain on his family, unless they moved out there. Also, for me, the MLS is inferior to the Championship in terms of quality and test of skill. Also smaller crowds. It’s a step backwards in many ways. However, I do agree in that the Red Bull family are a good thing to be involved in. And their New York team is obviously a major franchise and has massive potential and money. Tricky one. I think Covid-19 might be the only thing that stops him going just now. But next summer........
