    Me wearing black stockings and suspenders & kicking my legs high on Grove Street. That vision will certainly see Gerhard heading for the Big Apple! Unfortunately, the vision will also stop any new Head Coach from coming anywhere near our club!:D

    I'm sorry, old mate.
    If Gerhard does leave, I'd be very surprised to see a well known Head Coach (like the names mentioned during the past few days) being appointed. The last three brought into the club have all been unknowns from abroad and wouldn't expect that to change. I, personally, wouldn't have an issue with that, either.

    I can't see an English or well known coach working under the model unless they were desperate. Lee Johnson is the only one thus far that has. However, I'd rather be loved with a rusty pen knife than have him as head coach again.

    I do think we sometimes forget that nearly all clubs have a similar recruitment team/setup to us. We're not that different in that the Manager/Head Coach doesn't sign players the traditional way. Maybe they have a bit more control or influence at the stage of picking from a final list, but it won't be world's apart. Brendan Rogers moaned about it at Liverpool. Jose at United.

    Your Warnock/Allardyce types probably steer clear of it, but I would bet that any modern manager wouldn't find the model that alien.

    There were rumours in the summer that if Austria were added to the quarantine list he might not hang around as it would make it harder for him to travel back home to see family. So I don't see how going to New York which is far harder to reach Austria from will work, unless his wife and kids plan to join him there.

    I don't think the head coach title would put many people of / make them unsuitable, but the issues people would have are our playing budget, and criteria we have on a number of our transfer targets (age, sell on value etc...). I think a number of coaches would want to bring one or two experienced players in. Particularly in midfield and up front, where Mowatt and Woodrow are having to be the 'old heads', despite only be 25. Mowatt in particular hasn't had the benefit of playing alongside somebody he could be learning from for much of the last two seasons, and it could impact on how good he could become.

    That said, whoever does come in would still need to work well with a younger team and lower budgets, not sure Cook is the answer to that one. And agree about Warnock / Allardyce types
