I know, I know. No change there, then.:)
A couple of weeks ago, my family & I went out to Cannon Hall Farm. It was the first time we'd been out (other than hospital visits) since mid March. I'd honestly forgotten what it was like being outside our home and it was a huge boost to my emotional state.
The only thing keeping us going this year was our holiday we'd booked months ago in North Wales (Old Colwyn). This was to be our first holiday for two years. Unfortunately, the county of Conwy is one of those areas affected by this evening's announcement of a lockdown as from 18:00 on Thursday. We were due to leave on Friday for a fortnight.
We've been offered a full refund, which is fine & appreciated. Due to Laura's health issues (she's high risk and extremely vulnerable, which is why we've been self isolating all this time), this was to be a break from what has become the norm for us, a huge boost psychologically speaking.
We're aware than others have suffered far more than us these past six months. But I'm definitely wallowing in self pity tonight.
    Forgive my self indulgent rant.

There will be some cracking last minute deals elsewhere if you’re prepared to be flexible. Could be a blessing in disguise.

I like that people don't mind venting on here. Whatever helps. Hope you feel better soon, man.
My inbox is always open if people feel the need to talk about something.

You could well be right, mate. It's just got us all on a downer, that's all. I thought putting this all down in writing might be a bit therapeutic.

I'd say the same. See it as an opportunity.

I know the feeling mate. I go out, on average, about once every 5-6 days. I combine any appointments I have with a visit to the three local grocery stores, then pop down one of the local bars to sit on the patio, and then home again for another week locked up alone. I keep adding streaming channels to the Roku, but I eventually run out of things to watch. I actually reached the last page on the Internet yesterday. ;-) I mostly miss travel, especially international, as I cannot visit friends and family.

Love to. Health insurance for Laura might be an issue, though. Go on my own, you insist? Now there's a thought!:D

Big, platonic, heterosexual hug from me mate. Take it easy and remember it's good to talk.

You sound like folk that have the blessing of enjoying each other's company. Get in plenty of good ale and snap; talk about the great times you've had. Talk about the good times you will have to come. Things will get better. Perhaps not in the timescale we'd like, but they will get better. Most of all, stay safe and look after each other. Despite all the crap all around us, there's still much to be thankful for.:)

you could always come and stay at my house for a couple of weeks. You would be glad of being back in your own house after a couple of days with me.

When we had dogs, we went to Flamborough practically every year from 1998 to 2015, mate. We love it there.

The Bay at Filey is an ideal location for a " safe" holiday Lil. They are meticulous regarding
hygiene. The on site pub and coffee bar are open but look to be calling time at 9.30pm each
evening. We have a week there twice a year and travel out to Flamboro', Whitby and Scarborough.

Or try the north Norfolk coast. Loads of wide open spaces, miles of beach for walking. Holkham, Wells next the Sea etc.

This is a good ahout kev.

Know weather isnt the best right now, but it isnt totally winter.

Get a roaring fire going in backs, crack on the BBQ, show your mean streak man side by turning the steaks, and gobbling wine and beer.

Round off the evening with some board games and cards etc.

They tend to be the best nights
