That and the raw passion he showed after the Brentford game shows he’s an honest, hard working coach with good intent. The board need to back his ambition or move along. Personally I don’t care who’s in charge behind the scenes as long as they show ambition and commitment. Right now not much of that is visible.
It was a hard listen. Whilst I expected him to be evasive over his future, he was evasive about everything. Essentially said we were unlucky today which is absolute nonsense. He gave a similar interview to Stendel prior to his departure. I'll be incredibly surprised if he's still here come the Bristol City game. It was a strange interview.
I've said it for months now the current owners aren't interested in league position it is secondary in their eyes to profit generation from transfer activity that's why as soon as a bid comes in for a player that Meets their criteria they're gone. We are no longer a football club who seeks to progress on the field we are simply a football equivalent of a retailer who buys items and sells them for a profit all football matches are to them are shop windows. They don't see the damage poor performances will ultimately do to their strategy long term.
I think our problems are a lot deeper than Struber, I find it hard to understand the hatred towards him. Looks like he's off though so let's see who comes in.
If Struber is complaining about playing staff after putting that team out and those substitutions then I’m afraid he shouldn’t be in management . The best players should be picked and given a chance every game if not it’s negligence on the manager choose who owns the club .
He’s got to go after that. I suspect that was his way of saying I’m off, it either way he needs to go.
He’s not wrong, surely the question is not that manager after manager says the same but why? Surely when they join they know the scenario, so either their lied to or they believe they can change from within or my own suspicion is they are given a little slack when they join and then when it’s tightened they don’t like it.
Why does every season have to start with a s***show of the manager leaving because he’s not supported? Since we had the games after lockdown last season it’s clear that Struber’s heart is not in it. Just like last year with Stendel. Do we now look for another mug to risk his reputation by attempting to save us from the drop and maybe failing this time? The plan is not designed to make us into a successful club, just to let the owners make money. This year as a variation of the s*** we are expected to put up with they are at odds in the boardroom, so not only are we not pulling together on the field, we also aren’t doing so behind the scenes. Enough is enough, even if we’re in the National League we are better off without this bunch.
Maybe the club are blocking his exit? Seems a very strange thing to say when everyone knows he’s in discussions to leave. Stendel said much less than that and got sacked for it.
Weirdly I respect him for doing it. Two fingers up to the owners for giving him a near impossible challenge. The majority of the team looks completely abject at this level.
Bang on in what he says. Still plenty of people turning on the manager rather than seeing the lack of quality in our squad.
