My other half wanted some music on a playlist as he's having hip replacement surgery soon. He has to be conscious when it's done. He's just played one of the tracks. Wow, I'd rather listen to my bones being sawn up. "The Great Gig in the Sky" is possibly the worst thing I've ever heard.
Noooo! Playing this song, late at night, with a glass of red wine is one of the greatest pleasures in life. Even though it pre-dates me by 10 years
You’ll have to listen to the whole album to put each track in context. Really love that Album. The fascinating thing with music is that somebody telling you a song is not to their taste is fine and you can feel sorry for them You may note my signature is from the Us and Them track off the very same album. Try listening to the whole Album, preferably with head/earphones on
I can assure you, I will never play it again. My ears are still bleeding, and I was drinking red wine when I listened to it. Horrible noise.
Cheers, I appreciate that as I do (usually) listen to albums in context, and this one was on shuffle..... but I have heard that now and it really was one of the worst things I have ever heard. No going back. It won't ever sound good.
I've not found a woman yet who can stand it. I think women simply aren't attuned to the correct frequencies to like the Floyd. But apparently they're wired correctly to think Beyonce is some sort of musical genius. It's a strange world.
Another brick in the wall is another song that makes me feel physically ill, truly awful song, Pink Floyd are serious musicians though and have turned out the odd good tune
Up there with Cleo Lane. For drivel. That’s the first and last time I’m going to hear it. My hearing aids switched emselves off. Everyone to their own but I’m with you on it.
