Agree with everything you're saying. BUT which comes first - the chicken or the egg? We won't know until we've got the player, sometimes you've got to speculate to accumulate
I think Malik Wilks would have solved our striker problem. Pace and power. We had him on the books but successive coaches didn't fancy him. Sometimes it doesn't work out.
This issue with Wilks was known when they signed him, he's lazy and won't track back. And both coaches expected tracking back. Questions why we signed him in first place really. I agree though he should have been kept
We have no chance of getting championship quality, but look at those lists to have an idea who in the lower leagues we could go after who have started this season well. It goes in to good detail as well. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-one/top-scorers https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/league-two/top-scorers
No argument just pointing out that in my opinion most of them didn't hit the ground running and we need players who know the level not players we are hoping are up to it straight away. I don't doubt the players you highlighted and most of them have gone on and become solid players but that didn't happen over night for any of them. We are in a relegation battle and it looks like gambling on lower league players again.
