No. It was Moyes & his mate, who brought in Gudjon, Ronnie & Noel Blake.

With respect. Not sure what you mean Div.2 70’s seasons in div 4 x 7
    seasons in div 3 x 3
80/81 being established in div 2/2nd tier. till p’ship.

During those years we averaged mid table . Few highs few lows. Only finishing 3 times below 14th.

Moyes & his mate (why can't I remember his name?) were running the club and expected to purchase the club from Peter Doyle. They couldn't come up with the monies promised and that's when Patrick Cryne & Peter Ridsdale stepped in.

Stop calling them owners they haven't paid for the club yet they may be running it they don't own till they've paid for it.

Truth be told, they quickly made the appointments. Mr Doyle was keen to sell the club and was prepared to take a back seat, letting them get on with it.

Great post. I cant say im a big fan of looking backwards and our history (partly because i cant remember the detail of most of it). However i think expectations as a fan are usually higher than many clubs actually achieve. The thing is, i believe most Barnsley fans have ambition BUT set expectations to a realistic level. I fear the owners aren't even living up to the most tolerant and modest levels of ambition. The more i see the actions of the owners the more i worry that a) they don't have a plan b) they over sell and under deliver the ambition to fans and coaches c) they court controversy in many things they do d) they have no intention of investing any of their money in the club, only our money and that of player sales is invested e) they clearly and now obviously lack on the field competitive ambitions. I cant help but think the good will of fans and interest of managers/coaches, players will seriously start to wane

Need to build on the success we have had or we will be in a downward spirial .
speculate to acumilate.make a bit spend a bit.
Is the club moving forward or are we just stagnating .
Seen success .want club to build on it.
    Show some ambition.
We are by paying for our season tickets and
    merchandise.
Need club to outline a forward thinking policy.
The Football ground.the players the manager.
