Would appear that Vallance and Whitty were right.

It looks recently like more and more of the media and politicians are coming around to the way of thinking that things need to be relaxed. Hancock wants to butcher more lives with his evil threat today to put a virus with a 99% survival rate ahead of all cancer treatments if cases get to high. I genuinely think some people in society have been that frightened by the MSM that they would be happy staying indoors forever if a vaccine never happens. We need to be opening more things back up and getting shut of restrictions, not being weak and timid because of infection rates.

Give it a couple of weeks when flu season starts. I suspect people who don’t work in the NHS don’t realise how near to capacity it operates at. Usually around high 90s. Won’t take much to tip it over the edge. The govt have not bothered to prepare in any way for additional capacity hence the panic and decisions made on the hoof.

you realise that given it’s infectiousness 1% of the worlds population is a fairly massive number.

Still not much of a plan beyond shielding for the elderly, and death sentences for those currently managing health conditions and currently working. Oh, and no proof of how long people that have recovered from infection would be immune for. But apart from that...

For context, the petition to get fans into grounds reached the 100k needed to force a parliamentary debate within a day of the EFL promoting it. Several million signed a petition to revoke article 50.
