Darren Moore Pro - used to working with young players, fans love him, plays a similar style of attacking football. Cons - under contract elsewhere, loyal to his employers, some fans would be uninspired Daniel Stendel Pro - used to working with young players, fans love him, plays a similar style of attacking football, understands what the club is like to work at Cons - defensively suspect at this level (might not be his fault), had a fall out with the board, rumours some players weren't keen on him Mick McCarthy Pro - fans love him, knows how to get results in this division, good at bringing young players through. Cons - likes to sign the odd experienced pro, often criticised for his style of play, wouldn't accept not being involved in recruitment. Hannes Wolf Pro - used to working with young players (apparently), plays a similar style of attacking football (apparently), out of contract. Cons - fans are unsure of another foreign coach, may not adapt to English football, not exactly succeeded elsewhere. Danny Cowley Pro - creates a hardworking team, good at building a team without much money. Cons - likes to sign experienced pros, often criticised for his style of play, didn't do great at Huddersfield (but did OK). Paul Cook Pro - fans already like him, knows how to get results in this division, plays decent football, succeeded in most jobs he's had. Cons - generally had money wherever he has been, wouldn't accept not being involved in recruitment, looks like Cyril Sneer (actually might be a positive). Michael Duff Pro - used to working with young players, plays a similar style of attacking football, worked wonders at a small club. Cons - no experience as a manager at this level, only ever worked at Cheltenham. Anyone else want to continue the list?
Darren Moore Cons - not going to happen Daniel Stendel Cons - not going to happen Mick McCarthy Cons - not going to happen Hannes Wolf Cons - not going to happen Danny Cowley Cons - not going to happen Paul Cook Cons - not going to happen Michael Duff Cons - not going to happen
Also Paul Cook has got a really scratchy voice and he sounds like he’s got a cold permanently. I would put that as a con but I am happy to be persuaded for it to be a pro
The con of Stendel not being liked isn't that relative now as most of the players who disliked him are gone, Cavare etc. But he's never coming back with this board. If they had a disagreement with Messi they'd rather lose him then say they were wrong.
Hannes Wolf has just been appointed Germany U18's coach. https://www.dfb.de/news/detail/hannes-wolf-is-the-new-u18s-head-coach-219935/
I don't mean to be picky, but I would hardly say Hitler "divides opinion". I think, to be fair, a fairly sizeable majority are in general against fascistic tyrannical regimes (other than lockdown supporters, ovvo ;-) )...
first time I've seen Duff mentioned - know he's a Cheltenham man but when I've seen them play under him they look very good - would be my choice.
Don't think Paul Cook would come, based purely on the Wigan connection ( even though them being relegated had nothing whatsoever to do with us) I think he would turn us down if offered
Moore is surely the only viable one. He's got connections with the club & there is a strong chance L1 may not be completed AGAIN.
