So a European coach we have never heard of then - if we have 7 games in 3 weeks it would be good to get him in sharpish
Continuing with a policy which has had only had limited success. This will have to be the last one, football is a simple sport involving humans.
What's limited about it? Stendel got promotion on first time asking, Struber kept us up, if next coach can keep us in division again that's basically all the owners want. There is nothing wrong with signing German coaches who aren't incredibly well known, it gave Huddersfield two seasons in the prem, Norwich a season in the prem, Liverpool won the UCL and league with a German who was having a poor year at Dortmund before he joined. Do I go on? They play smart football and its effective with the right players
I think the problem we have is the likes of Mowatt and Woodrow possibly wanting out regardless of who is in charge. We're going to need another rebuild with 5 or 6 really needed rather than the 2 or 3 we needed to start with. I'm still positive though. It's very much waiting and seeing at the minute.
Intrigued by the Chrons reporting that we've had 10 managers in as many years, I've looked back over the last 4 decades and reckon the following: 2010-2020 - 10 managers 2000-2010 - 8 managers 1990-2000 - 5 managers 1980-1990 - 4 managers Clear evidence that despite our concerns about various things we're achieving steady progression in that area at least
You can make stats say anything though. Johnson was poached, as were Heckingbottom and Struber. We've only sacked Morais and Stendel.
It's a joke! Joke: something said or done to provoke laughter or cause amusement, as a witticism, a short and amusing anecdote, or a prankish act, something that is amusing or ridiculous
Struber had the team in the bottom 3 from September time til 5 mins or so after the final whistle should have blown at Brentford then Clark Odour kept the team up
Yeah but Danny Wilson got us to the premier League, Paul heckingbottom/Lee Johnson got us promoted out of league, Andy Ritchie also got us promoted so these English managers must play some smart football aswel with the right players. On a side note Struber's football and tactics were absolutely dire. If the board believe they have been successful so far with their appointments then they are deluded.
I agree on Struber his football is strange, same pressure and such as Stendel with none of the counter attacking, we got the ball and then proceded to pass it around until opposition got back to defend.
Not sure about this. I noticed how the article was worded, says he hasn't been interviewed, not that we're not interested. Might be a thing of we need to up our bid in order to be allowed to speak to him, but that also might just be me being optimistic, I'd love him as manager.
Telling statement in that piece is that we are seeking our tenth coach in as many years and the fifth under this board since they took over in 2017. Hardly a recipe for stability and continuity is it.? In the words of the late Waylon Jennings " This is getting funny ( but there ain't nobody laughing".)
Think you should read it again Darren Moore, the former Barnsley defender now in charge of Doncaster Rovers, saw his odds slashed by bookmakers this week to become favourite but the Chronicle understands he is not a candidate.
Doug O'Kane said there'd be no transfers then we lost Ludewig, loaned out Ritzmaier n' signed Aitchison. None out of three aint bad.
