    Kids been out a school trip to the farm:

    Dad- Did you enjoy it son
    Son- Yes Dad
    Dad- Tell me about it
    Son- Well the farmer gave us a tour of the farm, farmyard & the fields.
    Dad- Sounds interesting, go on
    Son- Well, when we went up into the fields the farmer pointed out the different animals in each field
    sheep in one, horses in another and some fukcers in another.
    Dad- Some WHAT?
    Son- Fukcers, he called them Heifer's but we all knew what he meant.

    One that tickled me....I was reading an interview with the actor Sanjeev Bhaskar , he said that when he told his dad he was going to be an actor....the old man just said

    It’s widely used all over tbh but in my day butty weren’t used I think it became popular with the Scouse Comedians late seventies early eighties
    Stan Boardman Cilla Black etc plus the boys from the black stuff .oh and of course the Late great Ken Dodd and the jam Butty mines lol

    Born in the 60s, mi Mam and Dad always used to say Butty when I was younger. Sandwiches were something you had when we had visitors coming round and we had to be posh :)

    It is isnt a Yorkshire saying though it originated in Liverpool and I’d not heard references outside of Scouse TV personalities untill Ken Dodds diddy men working in the jam butty mines .
    So yeah it’s widely used nowadays but it’s not Yorkshire :)
