Ha ha , good one. its a pretty bold statement to say they were used, if they were used as you state then you will be all over it like a tramp on chips, and blow me out of the water with facts, like i say I'll wait

There's no justification for any of it. None. When Manchester United were in Division 2 for the 1974/75 season, they had to play Cardiff City. During the match, one set of idiots were chanting "Aberfan", whilst the other were singing the Munich Song. Both blamed the other for starting the chants in order to justify their own disgusting behaviour. This simply proves it's been going on for years and the ignorant & intolerant always try to justify themselves by blaming someone else.
    To me it's all disgusting.

My Dad said that to me when I came home from the pub one tea-time when I lived in Pontefract. I told him about Leeds fans in the Horse Vaults singing the Munich song and he said the gist of what you've just typed.

Lol you might be. He was born in 1956. I agree how my original post made me look. It also made me think I really didn't think about what I'd typed before I posted it. Cheers :)

Kid on picket line was suprised to see his dad in a police uniform, his dad was an Army officer.

Prove they weren't on the picket lines, I'm not going anywhere.

I know the 8 and 9 keys are near each other so I'll just assume that's a typo

Initially, we used parchment and a quill. But that became expensive.:)

Absolutely no idea. But if the police were overwhelmed by disorder. I would have thought bringing the army in to assist would be the next step. Not an unreasonable thought ? They are using the forces to do testing. Not a normal task. I bow to your knowledge that’s why I asked.

I think when people see army mentioned it automatically makes them think of Tiananmen Square.

Thanks. Tis Why I’ve never believed it. And I served on the picket line 12 months. And never accused anyone. As you say, it would have been proven by now.
I just watch scenes like that last night. And think wtf, lad jumping on the back of the police car. And things thrown at it. Which didn’t turn out too nasty admitted but only takes one spark. The only reason being the police didn’t intervene.

I'M sure many ex miners, miners sons joined the army in the early 80s who would have been anti police who would have pulled up trees then and now to blow the lid on it, when you say serve do you mean picketer or police officer ?
