Seems odd that we are making player signings without Struber's replacement in place. I just get the feeling that there will be a coaching trio of Murray/Devaney/Hassell running things for the time being until a new man is appointed in a few months. The Board maybe thinking lets see what the in-house lads can do and then we may not have to make a decision, or spend any money. Just a theory, not based on any fact obviously. Might make sense provided we beat Brizzle tomorrow and start winning consistently over the next ten games or so. I know most on here would not welcome that idea but I think we might be stuck with it.
Apparently a German manager is being shown round tomorrow and will be watching from the stands if twitter is to be believed
If that is true then maybe the appointment of Herr KLINSMANN has already agreed to join the Red Revolution and has ok'd the signings so far
Got a feeling the new guy is British or British based. Just with the departures and who has come in thus far.
I said something similar the other day that we've got 7 games in 22 days. So basically it looks like they're trusting it to Murray for 3 weeks until the next international break. With playing Saturday-Midweek 3 weeks on the trot it doesn't give any new appointment much time to influence things until then.
Murphy has gone on record saying the reason Head Coaches generally don't get the decisive say in transfers is the usual high turnover in head coaches. Stendel left. Since then Radlinger, Wilks and MSB (all his signings) have been left out in the cold. Struber has left, Ritzmaier and Ludewig (his signings) are gone. Better to work for the benefit of the club and employ a coach who can work around that flexibly than to cater everything to a fussy/particular head coach who may well be gone in February. More than happy for the club to make these decisions as a whole than have a head coach dictate or give the manager a blank cheque book like they used to give Harry Rednkap.
Woodrow wouldn't have signed a new deal without asking new guy if he was going to be deployed as a striker.
