If we get the Matty James deal finalised and sign another striker this will be one of the strongest squads we've had since 2000.
Henderson’s also about the last player I’d describe as steady. Box to box midfielder, constantly looking for balls in behind for Salah & Mane to run on to.
Matty James is undoubtedly a very good player, but is nobody else concerned that he has only played 5 minutes of competitive football in 2 years?
If the deal is right for us, as it was last time, he's certainly worth having rather than not. Might not get a lot of game time out of him, but he was just coming back from a major injury last time too, and once he got up to speed, he was brilliant. Certainly think there's no harm in us bringing him in, especially if Leicester are paying his wages like last time.
I believe, although not had this confirmed, that we looked at him last Summer as well but Brendan Rogers was reluctant to let him go and wanted to phase him in to the first team alongside having a season training with the first team and playing with the U23's. Hopefully that's done his road to recovery the world of good, as oppose to the risk of breaking down in the Championship by rushing back.
Sounds like Brendan has nurtured him then. I really hope we've got a deal done. The suspense is killing me.
View attachment 10579 I tried doing this as the gif but clearly failed. Ah well, you all get the idea.
Wonder if Leicester will have reached an agreement with him and we get him permanently rather than a loan?
It's a possibility, he's out of contract in the summer after all. His wages priced us out 3 years ago though apparently, so I'm not holding my breath.
As long as Woodrow wasnt the second ....and final Hoping we havent sold anyone - thats looking quite promising now
I think the quote said 5 minutes of league football, but I believe he has played in cup competitions. Still not many games admittedly, but he's a class player and hopefully we've done our homework re his fitness
