Just received the first delivery having signed up for the patreon monthly mystery orders from Northern Monk. Very good first batch and looking forward to when it gets a bit more stoutish. For anyone who loves stouts and porters, some really interesting things at the minute. Tia from London Beer Factory, a 9.2% tiramisu stout. Double 99, Tiny Rebel, a 9.9% chocolate soft serve stout (like a (ice cream) Crunch, Hammerton Brewery, a peanut butter milk stout (more nitty than buttery) about 5% i think. And a mainstay from Vocation (very good value online too) a blueberry waffle stout Roll on winter!
On the subject of Leffe, went to Belgium a couple of years ago. Off the beaten track in the Ardennes (lovely place btw) and the Belgiums drink a beer called "Qark". It gets served in a mini yard of ale and a wooden frame to hold it. If anyone orders one the tradition is everybody in the pub has to give him a pat on the back and cheer him on. After drinking two I soon realised why. Would go back tomorrow. They are obsessed by things they make, in no particular order: beer, steak, perfect chips, chocolate, women's lacy underwear, motorsport and football. Can't fault em.
one of the biggest problem the take-home beer business is suffering at the moment is the lack of cans and bottles , when boris announced the first measures for self isolating half the country went off work and this added to the first lockdown has caused the supply problems the industry is still having to put up with.
Glad to say that in the last few weeks I have been able to procure supplies. Not a given though - things are still sketchy. But as things stand, I have been able to be more generous with my stash - especially when Lady Kaht's preferred ale supplies have been exhausted. For as it says in the Good Book: "Greater love hath no man, than he lay down his Leffe for his wife!"

Some amazing beers there, thanks for posting. We’ve been buying direct from brewers, but some stuff on there like Amundsens that we just haven’t been able to get. May well give it a try, though the 4 cupboards are pretty full at the minute and the beer52 advent calendar arrived on Saturday! Hope you’re ticking over ok.
I think you mean ‘Kwak’? Tradition is you have to give your right shoe to the bar staff when you get the proper serve so you don’t steal the glass. Fun fact (or not) is the glass design was so the drayman could hang it up on the carriage when delivering beer. Wasn’t uncommon to have half a dozen of those on a shift but they needed somewhere to store the beer and not spill it!

Just had a look on your website and noted your tap room is on Penge High Street which isn't too far away from me on the 176 bus when times return to something safer. We'll certainly fly by and give it a try when we're able to do so! By the way... I don't know how far and wide you cast your net for things. We came across a beer brewed in Riga a few years back called Medalus by Ilguciema. My memory has faded a little but the missus still raves about it and we just can't get it anywhere so they don't seem to have any supply chains. They also had a cranberry one which was really sharp but gutsy. I suspect we'll have to go back to Riga to try it again (which is no hardship at all as its a most amazing place), but if you ever come across it at all, do give me a shout.
Brugse Zot from the 'Half Moon Brewery' in Bruges is my personal favourite Belgian tipple. At 6% it is hefty enough without being too overpowering.
We did the brewery tour there, the woman who took the tour in English was very witty and deadpan too. There is a beer called manneblusser made at T'Anker in Mechelen which I reckon you might like if you enjoy Brugse zot.
