I think it benefits "smaller" prem teams but offside law needs revising to favour the attacker more.

I'd like to see it scrapped for offside and potential handballs where the ref / lino have made up their mind.

We have goalline tech which when switched on works fine..

What I would like to see VAR used for is stamping out diving and deliberate foul play where the ref is unsure.

I think VAR itself is fine - I have issues with the fools that operate it, seeing fouls that aren’t there & missing ones that are there. The handball stuff is a joke at present

The system itself works perfectly, and is needed to assist referees who understandably get things wrong.

The people using it need to be much more competent though.

Cost Liverpool the points today. Pickford should have been sent off and a penalty awarded
for his assault on Van Dijk and how they could say Mane was offside for the non goal that
Liverpool scored at the end. Level is onside and he was level.

Scrap it. If we must have controversy, let it be good old-fashioned refereeing ****-ups. Something to get fans agitated for years afterwards. Not this soul destroying farce that's turning the beautiful game into a slide rule driven shitshow that only a nerd could love.

I posted this a while ago, I think VAR is crap. I'm in favour of technological assistance, so long as it is immediate and, if possible, objective (e.g. goal line tech). Having to wait whilst the decision is reviewed slows the game and tempers the emotions of a goal going in.

If we want to reform offside I'd stick a chip in everyone's boot and one in the ball and then have a computer map it and alert the ref if anyone is offside when a pass is played. Then the only decision to be made is whether someone is interfering with play.

The only other thing I would do is to have someone watching the game in an office who could notify the ref about previous serious violent conduct or diving during a break in play. Either option is an instant red. A red for diving seems harsh but it would mean that the referee could be confident that if someone goes down there's been contact, and it would hence indirectly improve the accuracy of penalty decisions

VAR isn’t the problem, the video clearly did its job and captured both incidents clearly showing Pickford should have been sent off and the Henderson goal should have stood. The problem once again lies with the officials (on this occasion David Coote) and the pro referee association who fail to accept any mistake, or penalize individuals for such errors.

At the moment the officials seem weak and un-willing to overturn decisions because they believe it criticises the on field referee. What nonsense the statement ‘a clear & obvious mistake was made by the ref’ really is. It’s either a penalty or it isn’t. Otherwise (as happens now) the ref favors the bigger teams and awards a penalty. VAR reviews and doubt exists so penalty stands. In exactly the same situation with smaller teams ref doesn’t award a penalty believing VAR will review and give one if it’s clear. Problem is it’s not given because no clear & obvious mistake!

So keep VAR but openly criticize, penalize and accept responsibility for human error .... otherwise they will never learn and develop.

Can’t remember the last premier league game I watched. Doesn’t interest me anymore. And it is all down to VAR. if it ever filtered down to the championship I think I’d be done with football for good.

Good idea in principle, but we’ve made a right royal balls up of it.

Its a combination of the people using it and the state of some of the laws of the game currently

Nothing wrong with the system as such....it's the a**eholes making the decision that is the problem.

I think it’s a good thing & worked well in the last World Cup & it works well in the champions league. It’s just the premier league that have made a mess of it

Probably a whole lot easier to get rid of VAR than the numpties running it - they would be admitting they are useless and sacking themselves....
