I believe a support bubble IS allowed but on Friday night I was supposed to go out for dinner with my mum but had the booking cancelled by the pub because they wouldn't allow two different households to eat together regardless of circumstances meaning I sat alone at home while my mum and partner were at the end of my street eating.

 

Because you can't get out of it.

 

That boozer off Shambles St, 'Soho Institute' got raided and shut down last night.

Police and council officials went in, making no regard at all to distancing or rules etc..

 

I'm surprised. I've been in there a couple of times since the new rules came into place. We were shown to tables that were well spread out and socially distancing was adhered to. Not my favourite boozer, don't go a lot, just happened to be there and thought they were a bit strict if anything. Feel for the owners who, like all in the trade, are losing money hand over fist, while the virus is predominantly spreading elsewhere.

 

The guidance is quite clear re support bubbles*, if the police aren’t following that someone will get their arse kicked.

This level 2 is horrible for pubs. If you can't socialise with people outside your household it kind of defeats the object of going to the pub.

 

It may just delay them until a vaccine is available and so may stop them. We have a choice show a bit of self restraint and discipline and save lives or be selfish and reckless and condem thousands to an early grave or life long disability. There a story on sky news about a so called social media influencer who spent most of the summer telling people Covid didn't exist or if it did only affected the elderly. The guy then went on Holiday to Turkey and caught the disease that doesn't exist but that's ok because hes only 33 and a fitness instructor with absolutely no underlying health issues. He probably thought he'd just have a mild illness but Covid had other ideas and it trashed his heart and now he can't deny covids existence because it killed him.
It's not just a disease of the old it's not like the Flu its much much worse at the moment we only have one weapon in our armoury and that is to follow the rules and advise that way if we act sensibly the pubs gyms etc might be able to stay open.

 

Me, my wife, daughter and her boyfriend have been to Evoo this aft, absolutely no trouble whatsoever.

 

It isn't a case of being selfish and wanting to enjoy themselves. I'd quite like to keep my job and my house. If that means Doris isn't allowed to see her family till a vaccine is possibly found at some point in the future then tough. Let her make the sacrifice instead of me. Selfish? Possibly. But then it's selfish to expect it to work this way round too

 

I'm being selfish now, as have detailed before the lockdown in March had horrific consequences for my family and our wellbeing. I'm putting them first this time, not Doris.

Me too. My nephew who has always been a really happy boy has, as a direct result of all this, started wetting the bed, is having trouble sleeping and wakes up in the night crying. I don't care what rules some posh twàt puts in place, I'm not going to stop visiting him and trying to make him happy. Especially not when he's forced to mix with dozens of kids every day at school with zero social distancing in place.

 

I'd like to keep my job it depends on shops and pubs being open, my wife was made redundant in August but guess what she's got another one now because that's what happens but when youre dead youre dead for good no coming back and I'd rather stick to a few rules and keep people alive and you know what maybe if the Muppets who refuse to wear masks and carried on having parties with dozens in attendance or carried on during the summer like Covid didn't exist hadn't behaved like that the restrictions we are facing now might not have been required.

 

Viruses spread. It's what they do. Whilever we refuse to shield the vulnerable because it's not fair on them to be expected to make sacrifices then it will kill them.

 

So this support bubble then........how do families who use parents to pick kids up from school go on then? Hand over the kids at the bottom of the drive?

 

My parents didn't stop shielding when the government told them they could, because it was obvious the advice was wealth before health.
