Sounds like a cross between Game of Thrones and Moby Dick! Wonder if his opening words to the squad will be "Call me Ismael" - hope he brings steel to our defence again anyway.
He's French with German citizenship through marriage and naturalisation. Not that it should matter. It's good that we want the best person for the job regardless of anything else and that we are so warm and welcoming to other nationalities.
Why was he sacked from LASK, he did very well with them. Was it due to the lockdown saga (they held a training session or something)
How do you know they havn"t considered any English managers , have you seen the list of candidates who were interviewed ? & before jump all over me, my choice would have been Paul Cook but I am just curious to where you got your info from .
I'm confident that the recruitment process has been thorough and trust that the owners feel they've got someone who will help us to progress. I don't know whether he'll succeed or fail but obviously hope he'll be a huge success and go down as one of our greatest managers/head coaches. But every managerial appointment (and player recruitment for that matter) is a gamble and on the basis that the strongest indicator of future performance is the past then appointing someone who hasn't managed in England before and who hasn't stayed at a club for more than 50 games makes it a bigger one imo. I can't help thinking that it'll become another short term appointment and forecast he'll be gone within 18 months. AM could become as prolific as Eric Winstanley as care-taker manager! Nevertheless, I'll welcome him if/when he's appointed and he'll have my support.
A According to Giddings... 3 are under consideration 2 overseas and 1 not very far away ( but not DM)
