If English players and managers were the best wouldn't we have won a shed load more world cups?? I'm very happy for a foreign manager to come in. Ismael has huge pedigree, top level experience as a player, decent managerial record, currently unemployed (no compensation to pay) and people don't want him because he's French? Would you rather have Laurent Blanc, or Larry White? I know which one sounds better to me. Vive la France.
I don't see why there is a clamour for an English manager. Our recruits from abroad in terms of players isn't all that hot, but Stendel was great and Struber, who I'm not that keen on, did an amazing job to keep us in this league. I'm not saying we have to go with a foreign coach, but I see no reason at all to rule one out, particularly after the way the last two performed.
Too simple with the club having three candidates and happy for Ishmaels name to be circulated in the press. If it is Ishmael why haven't they released the name of the other candidate?
The person(s), BFC and the other club(s) may wish other names to remain anonymous at this stage. Ishmael is currently unattached so there is no conflict
Decent article about Ismael and his former club https://breakingthelines.com/historical/the-rise-of-lask-linz-the-club-that-never-gave-up/
This particular article doesn't exactly fill anyone with confidence. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/i...nsley-set-to-appoint-45-year-old-the-verdict/
They all seem to say exactly the same thing. Firstly he's no experience of managing in England and secondly neither have the previous incumbents and they were both successful. It's a gamble. Hopefully an educated one.
Agreed, apart from LASK he hasn't managed at above the equivalent of league 1 IMO, his record stay at any club is 50 games, he's had 5 or 6 managerial appointments in 7 years, he's had one promotion in German league 4. He's another Struber, who was the luckiest manager going when we stayed up. I wasn't in favour of Struber and this will be another underwhelming appointment if true. Mind you he was born in Cannon Hall so that maybe gives him some credibility with Reds fans
Bit of a red flag when a coach can't hold down a job for more than a few months. But if he comes ill support him.
Breach Covid saftey measures. Having full side training sessions when they were still ment to be training in bubbles. Got caught out and Club given a substantial fine and points deduction which ruled out there chances of the title. Sounds a bit of a maverick
