Have we started "Playing the game" as people on here have been calling for ? have we started actively looking to buy fouls and penalty's if the opportunity's present themselves we are not many matches in but i seem to be noticing this compared to last season ?
Ok, fair enough IF their evidence was irrefutable. In other words, Frieser went down pretending to be hurt when the Stoke player didn't touch him. This needs stamping out of the game once and for all. If the FA/EFL have the power to overturn a wrong decision then they should automatically go after the player that cheated and successfully conned the referee. In this case it is a Barnsley player and he should be punished for it. But that applies to every other club as well. They all do it and it is a stain on the game. How come the authorities only ever go half way to sorting out a misdemeanor? I do not want my club to follow the rest just because it is the "professional" thing to do. It's blatant cheating. It's got to stop.
Can we now suspect Sollbauer of exaggerating his injury in order to get a penalty. The thought crossed my mind, but I dismissed it. Now I'm not too sure....
Well 11 He kept it up for a long time, so a career in acting could be his when his playing days are over if that's the case. I don't think so.
There is a middle ground. It’s possible that there was an accidental collision not a red card but Frieser was still genuinely hurt. I have no idea if that is what happened. It would be good if film clearly showing the reason for overturning the red card could be made public
No the ref blew for the pen straight away. Once the pen had been given no reason to stay down delaying the game for 10 minutes was hardly going to help Woodrow That’s a genuine one
So he either elbowed him or didn’t touch him? It isn’t possible they collided whilst running, a bit of a barge maybe but no malicious intent from Collins - but Frieser did get caught in the face? There is a middle ground here. I suspect Frieser might have milked it - but we don’t know until we see it. We never will.
If there is clear evidence he faked the whole thing to get someone sent off I would hope there could be retrospective action I dont mind our players being a bit streetwise and ensuring the ref sees clear foul play but I dont want us to start trying to con the ref into giving out undeseved cards But I dont know how. The incident was dealt with at the time by the officials who clearly saw the offence or they couldnt have sent a player off - thats how it works isnt it so how can you retrospecively punish a player in this one case but not in the many other examples over the years - most recent being Pickford on Van Dyke a couple of weeks ago
But they’ve retrospectively a Had it cost Stoke anything from the match I imagine they would have been all guns blazing
