Watched the film about her last night, truly amazing. Cynthia Erivo in main role outstanding like in all roles she plays. Another great British actress. Her singing voice makes me want to cry and fight all in one. Something else!
Said to Mrs Mullet normally I'm a heavy metal fan for feighting songs but the lead song from film Rise up just punched me in the gut and said it all. Give it a go mate, honestly never heard of her. Truly amazing, not violent and typical Hollywood over hype. Look at a picture of the real woman you can tell she's hard as nails. She lead a unit in the civil war, my mind was blown by how courageous she was, she reckoned after a head injury by slave master she could listen to God. She never died and freed hundreds of slaves from the South. I'm not religious in the slightest but it got me thinking a bit.
