For those so sure about writing young Miller off I'm glad you weren't in charge when God first arrived and racked up at Oakwell...seeing his first game youd have had him on the first bus home.... .whilst I agree miller is not what we require in the short time I dont get how you get to be sure hes not good enough full stop...theres a difference ....Given time and some special one to one coaching ...in my opinion weve got what we may be requiring now further down the line...As for coaching get big Jon Parkin in 2 or 3 days a week he knows his stuff and could help the lad

I’d rather take a Schmidt on my hands than clap them together

Think Schmitt signed his transfer paperwork today, hardly heard him mentioned at all. Thowt Miller looked OK and did at least get into scoring positions, To be honest I wer crappin misen when I saw their team sheet and some of the subs they had, ....but it proved the argument that individuals dunt make a team, and WE looked like a team and Watford looked like a bunch of moaners who constantly blamed each other for their own failures. stuffed it right up their commentator and his remarks about us which makes winning all the sweeter...onward and upward COYR

He lives two doors down from my mate up Thurnscoe. We got chatting to him just before he went out on loan last year and he said himself he was nowhere near ready for this level back then but that he believes he can get to that level in the next few years. He seemed a top lad to be fair, but he seemed to be someone lacking in confidence both on and off the field. Reminded me of George Smith in a lot of ways.

He needs games, shame we couldn’t have got him out on loan.

    This^

It's easy to find fault, and football fans seem to be experts at it.

But our strikers were no worse than their strikers today - and the price difference is phenomenal. If as I read here, most of our players aren't good enough for this league, how have we won the last 2 against favoured opposition?

I'm certain there's room for improvement, but 'not good enough' is a terrible thing to say about your own team.

I think football fans are equally good at showing appreciation and praising where necessary.

Can we think players aren't good enough but still appreciate their efforts?

Agree with ya comments but most of us single out individuals who we think are letting our team down and not the team as a whole..hence my comments on schmitt...seems a decent lad but just not good enuff for what we need....so we find someone who is..

inevitably George was bound to get stick on here after he failed to take those chances. I will continue to preach patience and perspective when we look at younger players and their development rather than consigning them to the scrap heap too soon.

We must have seen something in the lad when we signed him. Had he put one of those chances away he would have been a hero.

For me he offered something a little different. Quite strong in the air and he held the ball up quite well. Howowever does ook slow and not very aggressive. We can coach in a more aggressive attitude but we cant make him run faster. So for me the jury is out on George. The one thing he did do was put in some effort.

I've seen comments about Schmidt on here and I think they're spot on. He was so disappointing yesterday. Given the chance to make his mark and he failed miserably. I can never forgive any footballer who puts on our shirt and doesnt give 100%. Yesterday Patrick didnt give 100%. Unforgivable.

That was the difference between him and George.

but as others have said DB, there must have been something there for us to sign him in the first place. Signed by Middlesboro in 2017 and he's a spreadsheet signing, so there must be something there

Britain couldnt get a regular start for a league 1 club so maybe we should judge him on that as well - not sure we should even have signed him

Id prefer to judge Miller by how he performs in our team and system - it may be he isnt good enough or he may turn out to be a good signing. One thing is for certain we didnt see enough of him yesterday to form much of a view

We need better quality options upfront it’s as simple as that. We’ve improved the defence and got more quality in the midfield so now the priority is to get more quality upfront.
