I was listening to talk sport on sat morning & they were saying that muscle injuries & hamstring injuries were rife throughout the game currently, simply because of a shortened pre season & the games coming so thick & fast, virtually no recovery time & that is why Pep & one or two more are banging the drum about increasing the substitutes to five .
Yes, before he made the pass he had his head up and was looking for the right place to put it. Many just have their eye on the ball and cross regardless.
The last bit isn’t reassuring. They should definitely increase the number of subs again otherwise clubs will be running out of players to field soon.
I really hope it's not serious. The lad is a terrific player. Championship quality. Another good signing. we will definitely miss him.
I never take into account what fans from the previous club ever say about one of our new players. You know that some of the comments will state than he wasn't their best player in that position, they've kept the best one at the club. Some will also claim they don't really need the departed player and they're better off without him. It's the kind of asinine debate normally found in a school playground. The vast majority of fans judge a player on how they perform with their club and rightly so, in my opinion.
Exactly mate. Also, some players suit some teams better than others. It happens. Callum B suits us, you can tell that. Straight away, he's settled in and doesn't look out of place, in fact he looks like he's played for us 12 months.
I knew nothing about the lad before he signed (no change there, then!) and have been impressed with his application & ability.
Me neither, but sometimes those are the best signings when we know nothing about them and they come in and impress straight away. I like them type of signings
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/54745978 We're definitely not the only club having problems in this area.
You are spot on & I also cannot understand why some fans dismiss players before they see them because they have come from a club lower down the food chain , we have all seen the comments when we have brought in players from lower leagues , I personally believe you should respect the player from what ever level he has come from & make a judgement after he has had a fair crack of the whip & settled into the club, a classic example to everyone is Callum Styles & there are plenty of others as well .
Exactly , there wasn"t the social media in use in the nineties but in the tap room Martin Bullock , Matty Appelby & Clint Marcelle were all written off before they kicked a ball , history says they didn"t turn out too bad .
Bullock and Darren Sheridan came to us from non league yet performed well in the Premier League. Appleby from Darlington and Marcelle from somewhere in Portugal was it?
Spot on, & of course more recently Angus McDonald from conference side Torquay was a decent signing . I know for the examples I am naming someone with an opposing point of view can point to players who we have signed from lower leagues who have failed, which is fine, but what I am trying to say is that you should judge all players as you find & not pre judge & write them off before you watch them .
