I jokingly put £50 on him serving three terms during the first debate back in 2016. Can't believe I'm feeling more confident about it now than I did then! Editing to make it clear that this was a very informal drunken bet with a friend - I dread to think what odds I'd have actually got!
I can’t work out who’s doing well and who isn’t. There’s good news for both candidates if you want to find it so who knows what the reality is. North Carolina looking likely as a blue win.
Trump has just been installed as favourite with Paddy Power. Bookmakers in the US have also just moved him to a -135 favourite
Definitely signs for you to be thinking it’s £750 gained and not £250 lost. The North Carolina gap gets closer and closer for every 3% of the vote they count
I wonder how quickly Trump will declare victory. Terrifyingly, that feels like the most important thing to look for.
They were talking about something to do with PA and it taking three days to count all the votes. As that might be crucial it could realistically be not called today and be up in the air
Yeah PA are allowed to count votes mailed that are received for 3 days after the election if they were sent before today. The issue is that Trump has already threatened to go in with the lawyers if it’s not called tonight.
PA is at 57% with 14% of the vote in. I’m not sure if that’s enough of a lead when we all know blue takes an early lead and then gets clawed back. NC is losing blue ground all the time and is only a 50.2% share right now. I can see why odds have changed and in fact they just announced the bookmakers have gone from 69/31 Biden at the start of the night to 60/40 Trump. Genuine feeling out there that the Democrats didn’t hit the ground enough and do the traditional side of politics. That said,
Some key areas in PA that were 50/50 in 2016 are running 80/20 Biden. I’m not counting chickens but I’m not worried just yet.
I still think Biden will win yes. It’s closer than I’d like, but well within polling margin of error so far.
Trump has taken the lead in Ohio. Not saying that means he wins PA but the trend of Red clawing it back is out there
Trump is going to win. Don't think Biden is going to make enough gains. Another crushing defeat for the twittersphere.
There’s people in the Twittersphere complaining now about the CNN coverage and their lack of acknowledgement for blue always leading early. It’s like those who speak, repeat, share and dominate social media feeds don’t actually speak for the majority but influence so many
