so given the way this year has gone you can pretty much guarantee that it will be down to PA which will be too close to call without counting all the postal votes - but Trump marginally ahead on the votes cast at the ballot box. If I was a betting man I would put money on it
Morning everyone. Pinning the hopes of the world on what happens in the USA is liking pinning your hopes on our Board for future success. It’s just foolish. Even should Biden win by the skin of his teeth the fact is that millions upon millions of Americans have again voted for the odious creature that is Trump, tells you much about that country. It is a dangerous malign influence on the world and other nations, particularly the UK, need to learn to stand on their own two feet and put forward their own values and ethics. The days of progressive world leadership from the USA ended a long time ago.
Trump doesn't want the postal votes counted because historically Dems are far more likely to vote by post. That doesn't mean Biden will win but still...
What does it tell you about the country? When will people learn you have to step away from the Trump hatred and understand exactly how people in that country feel and what they are voting for. Seeing snippets in a biased media, on both sides, won’t give you that. You can still then choose to massively disagree with them and say that’s not a choice you would make, but you’re not in their position right now.
Hahahahah, U.K. values and ethics. Like a compulsory vaccination programme and a population that voted in these liars?
Not been following everything on the forum for the last few days so apologies if this has already been posted but Jonathan Pie called it, along those same lines. Not one for the fainthearted.
Republicans generally don't care about Covid so more likely to walk in and vote. Democrats the oppisite so more likely to use postal vote. Trump will declare victory and deem postal votes invalid. It will go to supreme court where he has his own people in place and they'll agree with him. Job done.
It’s not ‘Trump hatred’. He’s just the logical end game of a Country that has lost its way and has been a source of bad things in the world for a very long time now. The irony is that because Trump doesn’t care what happens outside of the USA then the world, particularly western democracies, have the chance to make this world a better place. My fear is that the UK is incapable of standing on its own two feet and plotting its own course of action. If it doesn’t, what you see in the USA today will become the norm in the UK. IMO we’re already heading that way with populist, diversive Govt manipulating ‘truth’.
Am I right in assuming your other half is a Trump supporter Loko? Not having a go, just trying to understand really.
Donald Trump is an absolute stain on humanity. Not just America, not just the Republican Party. Humanity.
I’ve got multiple friends and extended family sitting on both sides of this election. Probably 50/50 to be honest. I just don’t like these blanket statements about a whole country that don’t appear to be based on anything other than Trump bad. Voting for him bad. I mean I get it, but there’s so much more going on there than that and one of the reasons he’s performing so well is because that’s where all the focus is. Everyone falls in to the trap (and by everyone I mean politicians and media not necessarily people on here). The rational debate rarely happens on this subject.
Fair enough, I know it isn't as simple as good/bad but Trump is a very dangerous man. The way he conducts himself on social media alone is absolutely disgraceful. I just can't bring myself to defend him in any way. He is indefensible.
Maybe you can’t. And that’s absolutely fair and I understand it. Although personally I’m not sure how much damage his social media does vs. the frenzy the media makes of it thinking it scores points against him. Sometimes I think if they played it down it wouldn’t get as much attention and come across differently to those middle voters. All I’m saying is that there’s genuine reasons people vote Republican that are about policies, life, employment, etc.
Just disappointed it is looking inevitable that he is getting back in I guess. I cannot stand liars and the guy does it on an almost daily basis. Frightening.
To be honest, and you’re not wrong, but they’re all at it all over the World. Other than New Zealand. She seems to have decency and leadership nailed.
