This is going to be enthralling over the next 2 days, plenty of English interest. Greens firming up and playing quicker after yesterday's monsoon. Fleetwood and Willett both looked very comfortable today. Rose looking handy, DeChambeau muscle not working which proves a nice point for the purists.
I don’t necessarily dislike him but I was happy to see what happened with Bryson on the 13th yesterday. Be good to see an Englishman win. I like Fleetwood and Casey.
Those 3 holes killed him, my little un said that's not good. He pounded the ball so hard but no sense of direction. Rahm on the steady march what a player. Would love Tommy to win it, he's the guy I love watching. Hatton not at the races which is a surprise.
The whole event is brilliant. There's just a magic about it - even without the patrons. It'll be must see viewing this weekend. John Rahm is looking very dangerous.
If I had money to bet I'd put a wedge on Rahm. He's got all shots, especially bunker play. Thomas looks steady, but Danny Willett looks back to his best. He looks chilled out and that's dangerous. He only wins big tournaments, and big money. He's the Paddy McCourt of golf lol!
I love watching the Englishmen do well. Willett, Fleetwood and Westwood are great to watch. Not forgetting Rose of course. Casey is a tool though. It's just a great competition. Sport at its best. The mental toughness that the players need - even without the crowd is incredible.
Best showing up to now for me Langer, 63 years old and he's got the body of a 40 year old. Used to hate him growing up, cos I wanted Faldo to win. How wrong was I, Faldo is a **** and Langer is a gentleman.
Still can't get over THAT putt from the Ryder Cup though. But yes, he's a true gent. Great to see Mize and Lyle plotting their way around too.
Loving Lyle's work trouser and braces combo lol! Langer on the green is still an animal, if its inside 20ft he's got a chance. Fleetwood tomorrow will have the best conditions, it'll have dried out and no need for forcing balls up the hills. Iron play tomorrow will be key, maybe even clubbing down on some holes depending on pin position.
I had a quid on Willett. 175/1. I had a feeling he’d do well. I think it helps when you’ve won here before.
Recent years I think the place actually haunted him, especially with all the injuries he's had. This time after a few wins in the 2 years he looks extremely relaxed with course and his game. You might be quids in mate, to me he looks like a potential winner.
Got it each way. So about £20 if he's top 10. Had a fiver on Fowler at 55/1 but I don't think his game's there to win it.
I love watching the Masters usually, so strange to see the course with no spectators on it though. Would love Justin Rose to win it as I think he is a true ambassador for England and golf in general. Dustin Johnson is the man for me, beat him and you probably win the trophy this year.
Justin Rose is the consistent golfer that could stay within shooting distance going in to tomorrow. The greens are playing a lot faster today. It’s an incredible leading pack. Not often you have so much talent at the top after two rounds. Don’t see Willett staying the pace and my #AnyoneButReed slogan will hopefully work over the next 48 hours. Rahm is playing some unreal golf but I’d lean towards Johnson or Rose for the green jacket. One day I’ll win the ballot and get tickets- I’m four failures from four so far
Looking like some low scores today, keep an eye on Rory on the back nine. Its moving day for a reason. Tommy started steady, just need the English lads to stay in close contact with Thomas and Johnson.
He wasn't with him then! Was like watching me hack around - topping it then smashing into a tree. Johnson is unreal.
