    What issue does it suggest?

ST, you’ve become an expert on the BBS at this kind of post.

It suggests resentment for a black kid from a normal background becoming literally the best ever in his field on a global level.

Remarkable how BLM has been so championed on the BBS yet Hamilton’s struggle for recognition appears to be unrelated.

I’ll state this clearly for you ST.

Hamilton struggles for widespread respect due to his ethnicity. In my opinion.

    Blimey.
While I think we all know there will be some people who feel like that I don't think it's got anything to do with why the vast majority question his ability or just don't take to him.

The reason his ability gets questioned is that he's in the best car and the driver of the best car has ALWAYS had his ability questioned. Button had his questioned when he won the WDC in the best car, Damon hill had his questioned, hell even Schumacher had his questioned when his Ferrari was hearing everyone.

On why people just don't take to him, well a lot is still that he's always had the best car (which he only got because he earned at lower levels) so nobody has ever seen that fight to the top and a lot is to do with the way he conducts himself. The tax issues, the hypocrisy on environmental issues, hypocrites on privilege etc. People don't like to be talked down to by someone who is hypocritical. To say it's because of his skin colour is very insulting to many people's intellect and actually to Lewis Hamilton too as it means his personality means nothing and all he is is a skin colour which could not be further from the truth.

You asked me to clarify my point.

    I did that.

I don’t give a fu ck if you or anyone else agrees.

I’ll state it again. Specifically to the BBS. There’s a ton of bluster about many subjects, yet miraculously prejudice seems to magically not apply in the context of Lewis Hamilton.

Conveniently for some people, I’d say.

Thats the issue with discrimination. Those giving it out don’t see it as an issue.

Same reason button did when he was at the top, why hill did, why Schumacher did for years, why vettell has for years etc. Formula 1 is so heavily weighted in favour of the driver in the best car that that driver has always struggled to get people to like him.

Id argue Button and Hill were both well liked. Hills time came before social media and to a large extent Button too but there was nothing like the vitriol reserved for Hamilton... I wonder why???

Button wasn't well liked when he was in the best car. It was often said how lucky he was, how anyone would win etc.

    Vettell, Schumacher?

I can’t say I share your opinion on button. I thought he was seen in generally a good light.

I’ve no opinion on Vettel or Schumacher. Both have been rivals of British drivers over the past 20 years and any animosity probably arises from that. Both are fantastic drivers however.

By their very nature, uncomfortable truths are difficult to accept, and often begin with denial.

Phil Taylor was another who was seen as not a very nice person and not many liked him as a person when in his pomp.
They all recognised his ability in the sport, just didn’t like his attitude.
Someone else who never really got recognised for his achievements in his chosen sport.

It's always the same when someone is at the top for a long period of time. People start to focus on their personality in a negative way. It's happened as long as I've been alive and will continue to do so

    His lack of humility.
    Arrogance.

Neither of which are linked to the colour of his skin.

Is it possible to not like a non white person without skin colour being brought up?

Sometimes wonder if some of it is the British psyche too TBH. We love an underdog
