Oh it definitely is. Think of all the disliked sportsmen, they're ones who have only ever really been at the top. We like someone who has had to work their way up. Hamilton, Rooney, Taylor, we haven't seen them at the bottom so we don't feel an affinity with them
He's one of 5,000 people in this country who pay the most tax. It's all out there online. But yes, like 90% of the top F1 drivers, dead or alive, he resides in a tax haven. Like Senna did. Like Button still does. Like Alonso. Etc. As for the nonsense about him 'always' having the best car. He hasn't. In 2008 when he won his first title, the Ferrari was seen as the quickest machine. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 it can be argued the Ferrari was faster also. So there's more than half of his titles where his car wasn't the best. He also had a couple of average years with McLaren which was a disaster at that point, but still squeezed wins out of it. Then made the move to Mercedes that everyone (and I mean, everyone - it's all still online) said was mental. They'd won one race before he joined. But can anyone tell me a season where the best cars don't win anyway? It's a silly argument. He's the most successful F1 driver ever. He holds practically every record there is. He's probably got another few years to go still. He's the greatest. Yet I remember so much love as a youngster, for Mansell when he was doing well. Way more than Lewis gets. And Nige was so dull. And drove the best cars. Oh, and lives as a tax exile.
I did say that people disliked seb, Schumacher and all the others for exactly the same reason. A dislike of Hamilton for it isn't unique to Hamilton despite how some people seem to wish it was.
If he's getting rich off taxpayers money whilst avoiding tax himself then he needs a studded baseball bat up his Harris. And that goes for anybody else an all.
What lack of humility? What arrogance? Name some examples that aren’t symbolic of other top sportsmen and women.
no I really haven't. Whitey likes Hamilton, I don't. It's called an opinion. Us adults are capable of having different opinions without accusing the other of being racist and then swearing at the other and behaving like a school child like you did.
I’ve really enjoyed watching Lewis this year, great driver, amazing ability and now the 7 times world champion. On the personality front I don’t know him so all I know is how he appears in front of a camera. Years ago I spent a week with two of the world’s most famous golfers, the guy who I thought was a really nice guy turned out to be an absolute **** whereas the other guy was brilliant company. However, in front of the camera the **** suddenly turned the charm on to cultivate his media persona. It showed to me that we only know the public persona of these superstars and the tiny glimpse we get of them through the media.
Wrong how? Am I wrong in saying that I dislike Hamilton for the many reasons I've listed? Is it simply that I'm a racist purely because you say it just be so it is true? And by dislike I mean in the way of disliking how he comes across etc rather than actively hating the bloke.
He's the highest paid sportsman in the country. He has homes in Monaco, Switzerland, USA and England. He therefore pays tax here. Lots and lots of it, naturally.
Wrong about the general direction of your arguments against Lewis Hamilton. My point has always been that the negativity towards Hamilton from the general public has a lot to do with him being black. Your dislike for him may genuinely have nothing to do with that. If so, I dont apologise.
I couldn't give a toss who likes who. I just like debate. For many years I was laughed at on here for my love for Tyson Fury. So that's Hamilton (GOAT), O'Sullivan (GOAT) and Fury (GOAT) I have forever the sung the praises of on here. For years.
And I dislike all three You like the controversial figure, I prefer the gentleman type of that makes sense.
