You seem to have trouble in many countries that "Hate the British"

I've been to Ireland many times and never had an issue.

Maybe you should question why people criticise you rather than looking outwards. Just a suggestion.

But sweeping generalisational attacks on the Irish and the Catholic church and women is acceptable?

    Everyone has tackled you fairly.
And when they win the ball you roll around on the floor feigning injury like Neymar.

I can actually genuinely understand how she feels. Talking of the 70s ... I went to Holgate an all boys Grammar school (as many will know) I was very immature outwardly cocky but that was a front to cover a lack of confidence and self esteem especially when it came to contact with the fairer sex. We used to share the 6th form discos with the Girls High school. They were for most of us (apart from a few of the lads who played for the 1st XV rugby team and one or two confident types), disastrous and stressful events.

I remember lads used to sit down one side and the girls down the other with a sort of no mans land dnace floor in the middle (occupied only by the aforementioned handful of confident types and a handful of girls dancing in small clusters around handbags).
I remember seeing an attractive girl sitting opposite and as she had looked across at me a few times and I commented about her to my 'mates'. They then literally pushed me up and told me to go and ask her for a dance. I got halfway across the floor and she suddenly went into a huddle with her friends and started giggling and looking across at me at which point I completely bottled it, did a 180 and went back to my seat. We then chalked '**** it ' on the whole thing and did what we usually did and went off to the Grey Horse for a session of underage drinking. Looking back I think some of the girls were just as nervous and lacking confidence, as we were hence the behaviour, (at least that is what I tell myself).

Now the serious bit..... Fast forward 18 months and, having opted out of going to Uni, I was a young shy skinny youth working in Sheffield for an Insurance company as a trainee Inspector. I had to go into the typing pool at least twice a day with my dictaphone to get my letters to policyholders typed up . They were merciless in there and used to terrify me making sexual comments and a lot of teasing whenever I went in. I even got my bum pinched more than once! I make light of it now and it does all sound a bit pathetic on my part but for someone very naive it was quite intimidating . I did eventually pluck up enough courage to ask a very attractive girl out in our department that half the office fancied and amazingly she said yes. We were an item for a couple of years until she changed jobs and moved away...(alright technically I was dumped).
The point is that Girls/women in groups can have a pack mentality not much different to men and on occasions can behave in some ways, equally as badly as men. Physically men feel less threatened but psychologically they can feel just as traumatised.
It is a bit like domestic abuse which tends to throw up visions of men mentally or physically assaulting a female partner but quite a lot of men are victims and not perpetrators.

I've first hand knowledge of domestic abuse from a woman BUT you cannot get away from the fact that 2 WOMEN a week suffer death at the hands of their partners. We're talking about more than feeling shy/awkward/embarrassed here.

You are not being personally attacked or abused. How old are you? Over 50 i believe. Act like an adult and treat others with respect on here and it works in return. If not either stop winding people up deliberately or stop posting, You always have Tykes chat to fall back on where you can slag off this forum and its posters to your hearts content.

Fair enough but domestic violence and murder is that is not what the OP was about.
EDIT: were you responding to me or YN? I did not bring up domestic violence as that is a different matter entirely. ;My post was relating to the OP which was about feeling shy/awkward and embarrassed and quite intimidated if the truth be known

When I’ve been out with bunches of women it’s interesting to see the differences to being out with a bunch of men.
Bunches of women have far more fun within their group - they laugh more - but they are very nervous of looking around in case they attract unwanted attention.
Even though they are having fun they have to be constantly on their guard.
Especially true in places like Barnsley compared to other places.

Groups of men tend to be, well, miserable - boring - talking about things like what car they have - but generally ‘scanning’ keeping an eye on what’s going off (women) around them.
Women are far more fun to be with.

Well we've had some threads this year......yet another sensitive, relevant and adult topic completely demolished. Words fail me.

I've got a very young daughter, but beyond her schooling I'll be teaching her self defence. The country is literally going back in time at an alarming rate.

I understand that, what I'm trying to say is that sexual harassment from a man towards a female is more physically intimidating, where is it going to lead?

Now if that was the only post you'd made on this subject no one would have objected.

Having dealt with many instances of intimidating behaviour, I can say that if men aren't challenged early they can quickly escalate their behaviour. Not saying they'll turn into Sutcliffe or Bundy but if you don't do it early what happens next? inappropriate physical contact? Stalking? Thankfully these people have been in the minority, but they do exist and give blokes a bad name.

Gary Fleming vs Conor Hourihane? Is there a backwardness rating on football trump cards? Surely Gary would score less if that was the case?
Tony Cascarino now that's a weird one, never qualified to play for RoI but did like Guinness would he score higher or lower than Gary?

Exactly so by the rule of Nudge should have a lesser rating. Big Tony was a Cockney with an Italian surname, nothing more, nothing less lol!

I'm sure it makes sense in Nudger's head, simple equation.

Square route of Turnip multiplied by 10 to the power of parsnips = Monkey Tennis

I’ve been consistent throughout this thread - saying it how I see it.
I don’t post on here hoping people will agree with me.

    Objected ???
Isn’t that what this message board is all about ?
Argument / debate = great for health of this message board.
Agreement = not too good, eventually stifling discussion.

I welcome people on here disagreeing with me.
What I don’t agree with - that should be stamped out IMO at the first sign of it - is trolling and personal abuse.
