breakdown ?. clubs used to fancy a top flight team away so they got a bigger proceeds payout, game receipts etc so has covid affected that ?, so if there,s no extras do we want a non league/minnow to better our chances of progressing into the next round

Think you're right. There's prize money for how far you progress, it increases each round, but the gate receipts are pretty much gone. Very little if any value in drawing a big club. Even for the players, yes, they've had the chance to play against some huge names in the world of football, but will that mean anything if no one is in the stadium to watch? The magic of the cup has dwindled over the years, which I think is really sad, but this season there's almost none there to be had.

You honestly think they’ll ever allow us to properly attend matches again in full houses??? Hahaha, no chance.

Not that it really matters this year, but I thought the gate receipts were handled differently for cup games.

In the league, the home team keeps 100% of the takings.

In cup games, the FA take a cut (20%, or so) and the remainder is divided equally between both teams.

I could be wrong, as I often am.

No reason why not mate, in the end it's down to money.

Believe the FA cut is 10% with clubs taking 45% each but that's definitely the principle
