Are you saying that it wouldn't be achieved naturally or just that it would be dangerous to let so many people catch it but that it would eventually give herd immunity?
Going through yes but not gone through. I don't think anyone (ok there's always idiots) have any problem with a vaccine once this gone through he same long term trials. But the 90% vaccine that got announced, ordered and we were told would be seen in December was only given phase 3 trials for three whole months before being announced as safe.
Both, to some extent. Mainly the safety aspect. Long term effects etc. Whether it would be achieved naturally compared to a vaccine depends how the vaccine works with the slight mutations that we’ve seen. I don’t believe someone can catch the same virus twice like some keep throwing out, but there have been mutations and multiple strains already. Whether they are small enough that the vaccine is still effective is still a mystery I believe, but there’s multiple cases of people catching Covid twice, months apart and in some cases being far worse off the second time.
The vaccine won’t be rolled out to the public at large though until is passed all testing, is my understanding. I don’t see how it could be. Ordering it is not the same as administering it. It’s like a pre-order, to ensure you have some if it’s effective.
I understand that and I think that's perfectly acceptable. It's just the announcements as safe of something which they cannot possibly know is safe yet which gets me and it isn't just the company producing it who has said it's safe it's governments who have also made that claim. I'm just worried that because of the immense political pressure to get a vaccine out that it may well be the case that things are signed off before long term trials are completed. It certainly looks like that is to be the case
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/13289461/businesses-refuse-people-services-covid-vaccine/ Whilst Boris said it won't be mandatory I bet he doesn't stop private businesses from acting this way as he wants everyone to take it.
Could we be in a situation where the government doesn't want an end to this because when furlough ends a lot of business's will fold resulting in high unemployment.
Private businesses have every right to refuse service, just like you have every right to refuse the vaccine. I absolutely love the irony of people flexing their rights but then crying when others do the same. You aren't being persecuted, you're making a choice.
Private businesses have to live by lots of different rules that they have no choice over even though it is their own business.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ed-coroanvirus.html?__twitter_impression=true ‘Conspiracy theorists’ proved correct. Again.
This is from six years ago but I thought it was relevant to the discussion.... https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/brain-dam...u-vaccine-get-60-million-compensation-1438572 I suspect that this flu vaccine was passed as safe by the MHRA too.
Question the vaccine whilst we still can before we get silenced for having genuine concerns with swine flu still fresh in the mind. Wales are crackers with their immunity passport and any business there that asks that of potential customers deserve bankruptcy.
@TitusMagee Our resident ‘free thinkers’ continue to be free to think what every other alt right crank Is told to think. This time they’ve latched onto this. Does amuse me the toddler like thought process of those influenced by these breitbart type Facebook groups- don’t want lockdown, don’t want economic damage, don’t want deaths, don’t want the virus to spread, don’t want masks, don’t want an app to trace contacts, don’t want things to be different, don’t want the vaccine that can stop the virus and put things back to ‘normal’. It must be exhausting.
At the height of the Swine Flu panic the Government pushed a vaccine to counter the virus. Called Panderix. It was shall we shall encouraged at the time for NHS staff to have it. The side effects include Narcolepsy. It affected 1/16000 people who had the vaccine. The supplier GSK refused to supply the Government unless indemnity was waivered.
