Just for clarification.... Are you suggesting these Covid vaccines haven't been 'fast-tracked' and have been subjected to 'usual clinical trials'?

As far as I am aware the Covid vaccine has indeed been tested as any other regular vaccine is. The only difference being that more money has allowed them to do the same testing faster.

You could call that fast-tracked, but from what I understand it doesn’t come with the obvious issues of fast-tracking usually

Haha, I doubt it's as exhausting as thinking up a moral justification for an enforced vaccination programme that rides roughshod over the Nuremberg code and Geneva conventions - both directly set up to fight the impacts of extremist right wing empires - and yet still convincing yourself that you somehow have any semblance of socialist or ethical principles. Now that must be truly exhausting.

I wonder if they copy/ paste their very researched and important sounding buzzwords like the above or type it out every time?
A lot of very similar looking comments to the ones above from firstname-lotsofnumbers on twitter at the moment just like a few weeks ago when they were all experts on article 61 of the Magna Carta.

Just a quick question after 23 pages of this thread... Has anybody actually said that the vaccine will be compulsory?!

No but it’s been suggested some businesses might want you to prove you’ve had the vaccine or recent negative test to gain access , all hypothetical at the moment but some places insisted you had the NHS app before stepping over the door which was discriminatory towards Nokia owners !!

(not read previous 23 pages so apologies if this has already been raised.)

Many of the people classed as 'vulnerable' are being treated with some very powerful drugs - e.g. people on chemo or radio therapy for cancer - those permanently on drugs having had an organ transplant to prevent rejection - or on strong drugs for any long-standing condition.
Their genuine concern is how might the vaccine affect the efficacy of the drugs they're on.
Not sure if there is a reliable way of testing the vaccine in these circumstances.
Posted earlier that the vaccine doesn't work on those who have M.S. and are on Disease Modifying Drugs. (Maybe other conditions are being treated with DMD's ??)

It's brilliant that the vaccine has been developed but people have to have confidence in it.

Whichever way you cut it, the medium to long term side effects are totally unknown. From conception to roll-out it has been ten months, testing has been 5 months at the very most, so all they can tell you is that you probably won't get any bad side effects in the first 5 months of having the vaccine, not great if you ask me.

Actually 0.00625% Similar to the estimated mortality rate of Covid in Under 18s. The number that the "just let people die" crew love to use as evidence for Covid not being dangerous.

I hope some people reading this thread don't overly study the side effects leaflets in their day to day medications. Christ almighty.

Yes they do. They have no right to ask me if I am vaccinated though

Van Tam has just said at the Daily Briefing that coronavirus will be around forever even with a vaccine and he can see like seasonal viruses some mask wearing and social distancing continuing. Boris swatted him down for saying it then JVT chatted again to clarify his point. I am sure a video of it will be around shortly for people to watch. It was the last part of the briefing.

How do you fast track time? How much money does it take to see into the future?

You can throw as much money as you want at something and it will give you a much much larger short term data sample but if you or anyone else can tell me how money allows them to see what unexpected serious health problems will pop up 12 to 18 months after taking the vaccine (as I've previously shown has happened during many trials in the recent past causing them to be halted) then I genuinely would love to hear it because as far as I can see without time travel there is no way to see the future

    Didn't realise being a̶ ̶c̶u̶n̶t an anti-vaxxer was a protected characteristic.

For what it's worth I don't think it should be compulsory, but businesses should be allowed to keep their patrons and staff protected by making sure those entering have had the vaccine. Let the market decide if they deserve to keep business.
